    Two dwarf snakes were discovered, Eirenis thospitis Schmidtler & Lanza from Sereen mountain, north east of Arbil  and E. rothii Jan from Saffin mountain North of Arbil  city  North of Iraqi Kurdistan. Adsorption techniques are widely used to remove organics pollutants from waste water particularly, when using low cost adsorbent available in Iraq. Al-Khriet powder which was found in legs of Typha Domingensis is used as bio sorbent for removing phenolic compounds from aqueous solution. The influence of adsorbent dosage and contact time on removal percentage and adsorb ate amount of phenol and 4- nitro phenol onto Al-Khriet were studied. The highest adsorption capacity was for 4-nitrophenol 91.5% than for phenol 82% with 50 mg/L concentration, 0.5 gm. dosage of adsorbent and pH 6 under a batch condition. Histopathology acts as an important step to foresee the stage in which the cancer is present, its risk of metastasis, and the health outcomes after completion of treatment. Histopathology grading acts as an important criterion to determine the treatment pattern to be adopted, the prognosis in patients and other possible future risks. From March to November 2004 a total of 634 stool samples from the children coming to the
hospitals, cure centers and randomly from the children of kindergarten and primary schools. General
stool examination and precipitation methods were performed on each specimen, the infection rate of
Hymenolpes nana 1.8% among children for both Gender(male and female) for different ages that had
been recorded the highest rate for (4- 6)year is 2.94% and the lowest rate for (9-12)year is 1.4%.

    Polycystic ovary syndrome is a very common cause of female infertility. This study aims to assess the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its association with clinical and anthropometric characteristics of Iraqi women with and without polycystic ovary syndrome. Fifty eightwomen with the disease and their matched control group were included. Their blood pressure was measured. Serum level of 25 hydroxy vitamin D of <20 ng/mL was graded as vitamin D deficiency. The polycystic ovary syndrome group had significantly lower levels of 25 hydroxy vitamin D, higher body mass index, and higher waist to hip ratio in contrast to the control group. The difference in body mass index was more significant in the obese category. W

The purified Serum mannan protein (Lectin) exhibited antibacterial properties against some isolates of some Gram -negative pathogenic bacteria by silde agglutination test .They were clear that the (SMBP) has the ability to agglutinate Salmonella choleraesuius, Shigella dysenteriae. We studied the effect of lectin toward E.coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae by using spectrophotometric assay which it was found to agglutination all dilutions of E.coli cells and gave high agglutination activity to wards the first three dilutions, and it improved weak agglutination activity towards Staphylococcus aureus which gave agglutine in 1/2 dilution only.

This study was aimed to investigate the load of bacterial contaminant in fresh meat with different types of bacteria.One handered and seven samples were collected from different regions of Baghdad . These samples included 37 of fresh beef 70 of fresh sheep meat. During the period from November 2007 untill October 2008, a total of 255 specimens of the cyprinid fish Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758, were collected from fish markets east of Baghdad city. Microscopic examination of these fishes revealed that they were infected with five species of ciliated protozoans [Chilodonella cyprini with 1.6% percentage of infestation, Ichthyophthirius multifiliis (3.5%), Trichodina domerguei (21.6%), Apiosoma piscicola (0.4%) and Epistylis solidus (1.2%)].      The present study aimed to compare between the amniotic and pericardial membranes for the wound dressing models. Ten local breed rabbits have been used in the current study. They were divided into two main equal groups: Experiment (Amniotic and pericardial membranes) and control group.  According to healing periods each group was subdivided into four subgroups (7, 14, 21 and 28) days post wounding. The proposed method uses a 4 levels discrete wavelet transform (DWT) on binary image. sliding window on wavelet space and computes the stander derivation for each window. In this research work a new fractal coding scheme based on IFS-transform for zero-mean range-domain blocks is investigated. Some improvements were performed on the IFS-matching stage, these improvements implies the use of moment indexing as a criteria to filter the domain blocks that suitable to match the range blocks, in addition to the use of stopping search condition based on the monitoring the minimum matching error, these additional coding steps will reduce the required long fractal coding time. The aim of this study is to find a relationship between oxidative stress and adiponectin in Iraqi patients with acromegaly. The present study included 30 patients with acromegaly disease attending at Al-Yarmuk teaching hospital , and 30 healthy individuals as a control group.The two groups with ages ranging (30-55) years. The results revealed a highly significant elevation in all parameters (GH,IGF-1 , adiponectin , malondialdehyde , and peroxynitrite ) levels in sera of patients when compared with healthy control .It can be concluded that oxidative stress (malondialdehyde and peroxynitrite ) may be valuable in detecting of endocrine diseases like acromegaly .
