Laboratory and field studies were carried out at College of Agriculture-
University of Baghdad and State Board for Plant Protection– Ministry of
Agriculture to study the dissipation of insecticide, [Spiromesifen] 240SC which used
to control insects on Cucumber [plastic houses] by using High Performance Liquid
Chromatography [HPLC] technique, besides evaluate the efficacy of some
treatments on cucumber fruits [ washing in water and soap, peeling, immersion in
saline solution and pickling] to reduce the amount of insecticide residue in cucumber fruits. Results of Spiromesifen revealed that in first spray the residue in
leaves was 23.65 mg/kg directly after treatment then dropped to 0.09 mg/kg after 28

Ricinnus communis herb produces significant antimicrobial activity particularly against Gram negative bacteria, in comparison with standard antibiotics. Four bacterial genera were selected two Gram negative (Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa); and two Gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus fecalis). These bacterial isolates were incubated and subsequently adding Ricinus communis extracts which were prepared as alcoholic and aqueous solutions .The MIC (Minimal Inhibitory Concentration)was determined for ten isolates of each bacteria . In vitro test has been made to find out the efficacy of aqueous and ethanolic extract of Peganum harmala seeds against Entamoeba histolytica in three concentrations (1000, 1500, 2000 μg/ml) in an exposure time of 2hrs, preliminary chemical analysis has been performed for some chemical groups which may exist in the seeds.
Results showed that all concentrations of alcohol extracts caused high mortality against parasite by using the alcohol extract in all used concentrations, this may due to the high containing of alkaloids. The highest mortality percentage achieved by alcohol extract was 97.5% while it was 90.1% by aqueous extract at 2000 μg/ml.

The concentration of elements were analyzed of twelve cultivation medium (Peat moss, Perlite and Hermon) selected from Iraqi markets using X-ray fluorescence techniques. The analytical results show that the cultivation medium contained high concentration of (Na, Al, Si, S, K, Ca, Fe) and low concentration of (Mg, P, Cl, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn). The samples also contained trace concentration of (Ge, As, Se, Br, Sr, Y, Mo, Cd, I, Hg, Pb, U). The results were compared using atomic absorption spectrophotometric technique for measuring the concentration of (K, Ca, Cu, Mn, Zn, Pb).

Serum samples were obtained from patients suffering from chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) disease. They were divided into three groups; 20 patients with RA taking biological treatment Etanercept (Enbrel), 20 patients with RA not taking biological treatment (disease modifying anti-rheumatic drug) and 10 people as healthy control group. This study was an attempt to examine the effect of using cooperative learning strategies on learning simple present and present continuous by elementary Iraqi EFL learners.
