Wind Resource Estimation and Mapping at Ali Al-Gharby Site (East-South of Iraq) Using WAsP Model
...Show More Authors

The wind atlas analysis and application program, WAsP, is used to assess wind
energy potential، wind climate from geostrophic winds of a given area. In this paper,
metrological data from Ali Algharby station was used to predict the wind resource
and wind turbine energy production at Ali Algharby site.
Data from metrological station was used to draw up observed wind climates at the
anemometer site. Site contour map was digitized using WAsP Map Editortool.
Observed wind climate, digitized contour map, terrain roughness length, obstacle
groups and their porosity were used as input to the WAsP model. Vestas V182, 1.65
MW turbine was used. Weibull probability distribution graph of wind speed, power

A newly developed analytical method characterized by its speed and sensitivity for the determination of metoclopramide hydrochloride (MCP-HCl) in pure and pharmaceutical preparation via turbidimetric measurement (0-180o) by Ayah 6SX1-T-2D Solar cell-CFI Analyser. The method was based on the reaction of phosphomolybdic acid with metoclopramide hydrochloride in acidic medium to form yellowish white precipitate for the ion-pair complex. Turbidity was measured via the reflection of incident light that collides on the surface precipitated particles at 0-180o. Chemical and physical parameters were studied and optimized. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.0005-3 or 0.0005- 4 mMol.L-1, with correlation coefficient r = 0.9947&

Synthesis, characterization and application of hierarchical zeolites are becoming a subject of an increasing interest among scientists and researchers. Hierarchical structures incorporating zeolites   possess secondary porosity at meso- and macrolevel to overcome problem of mass transport, which occurs with using conventional zeolites.

In this study, the porous carbon surface was prepared by carbonization of the locally available agricultural waste of the Iraqi Nut shell (NS) using a carbonization method in a tubular furnace at 900ËšC for two hours. Hierarchicalpours structures including zeolite were prepared by the mechanical activation of the carbon surface using ultrasonication with a nanoparticles suspensio

In this paper, the Magnetically Stabilized Gliding Arc Discharge (MSGAD) system was constructed to produce non-thermal plasma using argon gas under atmospheric pressure. A gliding plasma discharge was stabilized by a magnetic field for the purpose of a planned investigation. The emission spectra of the generated plasma using a gliding arc discharge system were recorded under atmospheric pressure, with a constant value of alternating voltage (4 kV) and at different gas flow rates of) 0.5–2.5 (L/min. The plasma parameters, including electron temperature (Te), electron density (ne), plasma frequency, Debye length and electron temperature, were calculated. The electron temperature was measured using the Boltzmann plot method, and the elect

The Effect of Sodium Chloride on Ion Association of Lysine and Arginine Ionizable Side Chains Amino Acids with Dehydro-L-ascorbic Acid in Aqueous Solution at Different Temperatures
...Show More Authors

Molar conductance (Λ) of ionizable side chains amino acids, lysine (Lys) and arginine (Arg) with dehydroascorbic acid (DHA) in water and in NaCl solutions was measured at temperatures range 298 K to 313 K. The limited molar conductance (Λo) and the constant of the ions association (KA) are calculated using the Shedlovsky techniques. The dynamic radius of the concerned ion (R) is calculated by used Stokes–Einstein relation. The heat of association, the Gibbs free energy, the change of entropy and activation energy (ΔHo/ kJ mol-1, ΔGo/ kJ mol-1, ΔSo/J K-1 mol-1, and ΔES/ kJ mol-1) respectively), also calculated. Studying the Effect of Laser Pump Pulse Energy and Delay Time on Conversion Efficiency of KTP
...Show More Authors

In this study, the effect of increasing pump pulse energy and delay time on the energy conversion efficiency of the Potassium Titanyl Phosphate (KTP) crystal at room temperature was investigated. It was found that the higher the pump pulse the greater the efficiency at a certain value of the delay time. Moreover, at the delay time 3.524ns, we found that the efficiency of the conversion of energy increases from 0.0112 to 0.0159. We  also observed that the lower delay time between the pump and the probe pulses leads to increase the rate of energy conversion efficiency of the KTP crystal, where the reaches up to 3, which is higher than the value recorded in the absence of a pump pulse. The highest value of the

In Vitro Regeneration of Pimpinella Anisum L. Using Different Plant Growth Regulators

Plant regeneration protocols were developed for medicinally important anise (Pimpinella anisum L.) that successfully achieved from seeds. Seeds were sterilized and inoculated on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with and without gibberellins (GA3) until full germination. The highest percentage of germination (100%) was recorded on MS medium treated with 2.0 mg/L GA3 after 7 days. For shoot proliferation, different concentrations of 6- benzyl adenine BA (1, 1.5, 2 mg/L) were used. To enhance shoot induction, 0.1 mg/L of naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and 0.01 mg/L of thidiazuron (TDZ) were tested along with BA. Direct regenerated shoots were obtained on MS medium supplemented with BA alone (2mg/L) which gave (7

Brain Tumor Detection of Skull Stripped MR Images Utilizing Clustering and Region Growing
...Show More Authors

Brain tissues segmentation is usually concerned with the delineation of three types of brain matters Grey Matter (GM), White Matter (WM) and Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF). Because most brain structures are anatomically defined by boundaries of these tissue classes, accurate segmentation of brain tissues into one of these categories is an important step in quantitative morphological study of the brain. As well as the abnormalities regions like tumors are needed to be delineated. The extra-cortical voxels in MR brain images are often removed in order to facilitate accurate analysis of cortical structures. Brain extraction is necessary to avoid the misclassifications of surrounding tissues, skull and scalp as WM, GM or tumor when implementing s

Pre-equilibrium and Equilibrium Energy Emission Spectrum of Nucleons and Light Nuclei Induce Nuclear Reactions on 63Cu Nuclei
...Show More Authors

The differential cross sections of the pre - equilibrium stage are calculated at different energies using the Kalbach Systematic approach in Exciton model with Feshbach, Kerman and Koonin (FKK) statistical theory of Multistep Compound and direct reactions. In this work, the emission rate of light nuclei with emission energy in the centre of mass system in the isospin mixed case is considered in calculations to predict the cross-sections at the pre-equilibrium and equilibrium stages. The nucleons and light nuclei (2D and 3T) have been used as a projectile at the target 63Cu nuclei and at different incident energies (4MeV, 14 MeV and 14.8MeV). Based on field work, satellite images and aerial photographs interpretation, five stages of alluvial fanswere recognized within the study area. The alluvial fans’ sediments lie unconformably over pre- Quaternary sediments represented by angular unconformity. The earlier stages of the fanswere developed during the Plio- Pleistocene age, whereas the later stage represents the sediments of the Holocene age.
