Iris research is focused on developing techniques for identifying and locating relevant biometric features, accurate segmentation and efficient computation while lending themselves to compression methods. Most iris segmentation methods are based on complex modelling of traits and characteristics which, in turn, reduce the effectiveness of the system being used as a real time system. This paper introduces a novel parameterized technique for iris segmentation. The method is based on a number of steps starting from converting grayscale eye image to a bit plane representation, selection of the most significant bit planes followed by a parameterization of the iris location resulting in an accurate segmentation of the iris from the origin

Etherification of n-hexanol, n-heptanol and n-octanol with propargyl bromide in the presence of sodium hydroxide in DMF afforded the terminal alkynes (2) a, b and c. Phenacyl bromide, p-bromophenacyl bromide and p-phenylphenacyl bromide were converted to corresponding azides (4) a, b and c respectively by traditional SN2 reaction of the mentioned bromides and sodium azide in DMF. The cycloaddition of the propargyl ethers (2) with the prepared organic azides (4) using click conditions gave the target 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3- triazoles (5)-(7) in good yields. All the synthesized triazoles were characterized by FT-IR while the compounds (5) a,b and c were characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR in addition to FT-IR technique.

The emergence of Arabic play in Nigeria cannot be easily traced. However, the first published one is the Oseni’s al ’Amid al-Mubajjal (The Honorable Dean) in 1994.Thereafter, more than forty of the Nigerian Arabic plays have emerged.      Storing and transferring the images data are raised in recent years due to requisiteness of transmission bandwidth for considerable storage capacity. Data compression method is proposed and applied in an attempt to convert data files into smaller files. The proposed and applied method is based on the Wavelet Difference Reduction (WDR) as considered the most efficient image coding method in recent years.
