This paper aims to study Libyan castor oil and its potential for diesel conversion. Experiments were carried out in the laboratories of the Specific Center for Training in the Oil Industries in Al-Zawiya. The oil was extracted using a Soxhlet extractor and n-hexane solvent at 60 °C. The aim of this study was to implement and compare obstacle avoidance for an autonomous wheeled mobile robot (WMR) via the grey wolf optimisation (GWO) algorithm and the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm. The study was conducted via three scenarios, each designed to test the performance of the algorithm under different conditions, considering fixed and moving circular obstacles in the surrounding environment. GWO was used to determine the most efficient, shortest and safest path for the WMR from the starting point to the target point. The results showed that the GWO outperformed the ABC. Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) were created using two different preparation methods: chemical precipitation and the green method using the leaves of Ficus carica extract. The nanoparticles were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX). Analytical techniques such as XRD were applied to verify the crystallinity of ZnO NPs as well as used to calculate the crystal size for the prepared samples. In this paper, the effects of subsurface water retention technology (SWRT) on crop coefficient (k_c) and crop evapotranspiration (ET_c) of eggplant were investigated in sandy loam soil. For this purpose, two treatments plot (with SWRT and without using SWRT) were adopted during 93 days of cultivation. The study was conducted in open field within Al-Fahamah Township, Baghdad, Iraq during summer growing season 2017.
