Summary

I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Baghdad in 2009 and then worked as a pharmacist at the Ministry of Health, Baghdad Teaching Hospital, from 2010 to 2012. Subsequently appointed as a pharmacy teaching assistant at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, in 2012. I obtained a master's degree in clinical laboratory sciences from the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, in 2018. In my department of clinical laboratory sciences, I taught several subjects, including human anatomy lab, clinical chemistry lab, biochemistry lab, and laboratory training. I have supervised numerous graduation projects from 2019 to the present. Now, Iam Ph.D student in college of pharmacy /university of baghdad

Research Interests

I am interested in research related to pathophysiology, prevention, and management of Diabetes Mellitus (DM), with a particular focus on its long-term complications. Diabetes, both Type 1 and Type 2, presents significant global health challenges, leading to a spectrum of complications that affect multiple organ systems. These complications, such as cardiovascular disease, nephropathy, neuropathy, and retinopathy, contribute to increased morbidity and mortality among diabetic patients. My researches aim to explore the mechanisms that link chronic hyperglycemia with these complications, identifying potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets that can help in early diagnosis and more effective treatments. I am particularly interested in the role of oxidative stress, inflammation, and insulin resistance in accelerating vascular damage and metabolic dysfunction in diabetic patients.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced as a result of biochemical processes that are not in balance with the body's antioxidant defense mechanism. This metabolic dysfunction is referred to the oxidative stress (OS).  Metabolic dysfunction-associated diseases are affected by changes in the redox balance. It is now widely recognized that oxidative stress significantly affects diabetes mellitus (DM), particularly type 2 diabetes.
