2-Deoxyglucose Glycolysis Inhibitor Augment Oncolytic Virotherapy to Induce Oxidative Stress and Apoptosis in Breast Cancer (Part Ⅲ)
...Show More Authors

One of the "hallmarks of cancer" is altered energy metabolism, which is increased glycolysis in cancer cells, the primary source of energy that uses this metabolic pathway to generate ATP. Oncolytic virotherapy with aerobic glycolysis inhibitor smart therapeutic approach to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. The current study aimed to use the 2-Deoxyglucose (2DG), a specific glycolysis inhibitor, to enhance the Newcastle disease virus (NDV). In this study, a mouse model of breast cancer allograft with mammary adenocarcinoma tumor cells (AN3) was used and treated with 2DG, NDV, and a combination of both. Anti-tumor efficacy and glycolysis analysis (hexokinase -1 (HK-1), pyruvate, and ATP) were determined. The induction of oxidative stress

A Five Variable Refined Plate Theory For Thermal Buckling Analysis Uniform And Nonuniform Of Cross-Ply Laminated Plates
...Show More Authors

This research is devoted to investigating the thermal buckling analysis behaviour of laminated composite plates subjected to uniform and non-uniform temperature fields by applying an analytical model based on a refined plate theory (RPT) with five unknown independent variables. The theory accounts for the parabolic distribution of the transverse shear strains through the plate thickness and satisfies the zero-traction boundary condition on the surface without using shear correction factors; hence a shear correction factor is not required. The governing differential equations and associated boundary conditions are derived by using the virtual work principle and solved via Navier-type analytical procedure to obtain critica

Reuse of Glass waste as a partial replacement to fine aggregates in concrete
...Show More Authors

As human societies grow, the problem of waste management becomes one of the pressing issues that need to be addressed. Recycling and reuse of waste are effective waste management measures that prevent pollution and conserve natural resources. In this study, the possibility of using glass waste as an alternative was used as a partial weight substitute for fine aggregates with replacement ratios of 10, 20, 30, and 40% by the weight, and formed into test models (15 cm * 15 cm ) cube and (15 cm * 30 cm) cylinder, then matured and tested their strength compression and tensile strength at the age of 7 and 28 days and compared with a reference or conventional concrete with a mixing ratio (1: 1.5: 3) as well as testing its worka

The research aimed to create chitosan zinc oxide nanoparticles (Ch-ZnO NPs) for use as agents to combat biofilms produced by Acinetobacter baumannii. The Ch-ZnO NPs were produced using chitosan biomass as a cost-effective, eco-friendly material for synthesis purposes. The properties of the produced nanoparticles were analyzed through a range of methods. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) carried out chemical structure identification and analysis. The maximum absorption peak, at 235 nm was confirmed through UV spectrophotometry. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) varied the hexagonal crystal structure with a particle size measurement of 34 nm.    Membrane fouling is the main problem that limits the use of membrane technology. This work focuses on using the Hermia models to determine the controlling fouling mechanisms, including intermediate pore blocking, complete pore blocking, standard pore blocking, and cake formation. Also, it investigates the estimation of the manufacturing costs, which included the costs of preparation materials and energy consumed during the preparation and casting processes of the polyvinylidene fluoride/polyethylene glycol (PVDF/PEG) and PVDF/PEG-tin oxide nanoparticles (PVDF/PEG-SnO2 NPs) membranes. The results of Hermia’s models were applied on the first, third, and fifth cycles of the rhodamine B dye solution filtration processes. Depending on

Research and application of gas lift technology in bedrock gas reservoirs -A case study of Jianbei gas reservoir

The Jianbei gas reservoir, situated in the Altun Mountains of the Qaidam Basin, is a typical bedrock gas reservoir. Since its commissioning, the gas wells have generally encountered water breakthrough, leading to a significant drop in production. To address this issue, a pressurised gas lift process was implemented to drain water and boost production. While most wells exhibited positive production increases, some showed little to no change in productivity post-treatment. Therefore, it is imperative to investigate the reasons for these discrepancies and adjust/upgrade the original plan accordingly. Through comprehensive analysis from various perspectives, including fluid accumulation issues, the gas lift process itself, and wellbore

FACE IDENTIFICATION USING BACK-PROPAGATION ADAPTIVE MULTIWAVENET

Face Identification is an important research topic in the field of computer vision and pattern recognition and has become a very active research area in recent decades. Recently multiwavelet-based neural networks (multiwavenets) have been used for function approximation and recognition, but to our best knowledge it has not been used for face Identification. This paper presents a novel approach for the Identification of human faces using Back-Propagation Adaptive Multiwavenet. The proposed multiwavenet has a structure similar to a multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural network with three layers, but the activation function of hidden layer is replaced with multiscaling functions. In experiments performed on the ORL face database it achieved a

Dust storm in Iraq is a climatic phenomenon. Dust storm data from 1992 to 2009 and data of main climatic parameters rainfall (1942 to 2010) and air temperature (1992 to 2009) of Erbil Meteorological Station were analysed. Results show an increase of the number of suspended and rising dust as well as dust storms with time. An average of the above mentioned period of all types of dust storms is individually compared with the last five years. Again, there is a noticeable increasing of the number of storms. From the results it can be seen that the months May, June, July and August have the most frequent dust conditions while months January, February, November and December the least. Boosting catalytic performance in ZSM-5 (50) catalyst cracking: microwave and Taguchi method with nitrogen activation

Microwave power has a more significant effect on cracking with less energy consumption. The microwave power and the catalysis increase the racking rate and the conversion at lower temperatures.  Accordingly, the generated hot spots in the catalyst offer a suitable condition for cracking (high rate and low temperature). The microwave technique was used to conduct the cracking of heavy naphtha. A set of experiments was done with microwave power (750–1250 W), preheating temperatures (150–250 ˚C), and space velocities (2–6 l/hr) with and without nitrogen injection. The nitrogen injection enhanced the conversion for all situations. The best result has a conversion of 47.37% with nitrogen injection at microwave power of 1250 W, a flow
