In May 20th. 1985 two species of aphids were found on the roots of Vicia faba L. in Hammam region 30 Kilometer south of Mosul. Samples of these aphids were sent to the Commonwealth Institute of Entomology, London. ( No. 17002/9804 Asia ) and identified as being Smynthurodes betas westwood and Dysaphis crataegi (Kaltenbach) (APhididae : Homoptera). The first species was dominant. The latter species was also noticed on the roots of the common bishop's weed (Ammi majus L.) and on the wide carrot (Daucus carrota L.) of the family Umbelliferae (Bodenheimer & Swirski, 1957).

A study was conducted invitro to determine the effects of storage at
temperature 4 Cº upon the survival of protoscolices of Echinococcus
granulosus from 86 hydatid cysts isolated from infected donkeys . Flam cell
activity was the choice for viability , in addition using vital stain (0.1%
aqueous eosin) . The result showed that higher percentage survival 94.41%
in hydatid fluid for 9 days . The longest survival times of any of the samples
tested was 81 days with the survival percentage 85% and the lowest was 33%
for 13 days , showing movement till the end of this period . Our results

reinforced with geotextiles constructed on soft soil and describe the finite element analysis by using
ANSYS program ver. (5.4). The ANSYS finite element program helps in analyzing the stability of
geo- structure (embankment) in varied application of geotextiles reinforcement to enhance the best
design for embankment.
The results of analysis indicate that one of the primary function of geotextiles reinforcement was to

The proposed sensor is designed to measure the concentration of liquids using the photonic crystal fibre (PCF) principles. The sensor has been implemented by splicing the two ends of the PCF piece to a single mode fibre (SMF). The air holes found in the splicing points are fully collapsed by the arc discharge. The wavelength shift occurs at the collapsed regions due to the excitation of combined core besides the cladding modes.
