This research was performed to test the effects of cigarette smoking on some parameters that are considered as signs of critical problems in human body. Rare earth element (REE) in the Upper Oligocene-Middle Miocene succession represented by reefal carbonate rocks of Anah Formation, dolomitic limestone of the Euphrates Formation, and gypsiferous marly limeatone of Fatha Formation in the western Iraq were used as geochemical indicators.              A new series of sulfonamide derivatives (6a-c), containing 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (5a-c) ring system, were synthesized and their structures were identified by using ATR-FT-IR and ¹HNMR spectroscopic analytical techniques.
