This study was designed to investigate the effect of sesame oil on lipid profile and liver enzyme in male albino rats treated with Carbone tetrachloride (CCl4).

Liver biopsies were taken from (89) cattle slaughtered at modern Baghdad abattoir. Macroscopic examination of livers showed that (28.11%) of cases were infected with chronic fascioliasis, while (1.12%) of livers showed acute fascioliasis and (2.24%) of livers showed chronic fascioliasis with hydatidosis. Hydatid cysts were present in (6.74%) of inspected livers, telangiectasis of the livers found in (3.37%) of cases, focal hepatic necrosis (Saw dust) was observed in (19.1%), liver abscesses constituted (1.12%) and (38.2%) of livers had no significant gross lesions. The diagnosis of liver diseases in cattle using liver biopsy technique was more successful when the lesion was extensively diffuse in the liver.

The Red Palm Weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier, 1790) is a devastating invasive pest of palm trees, invading the Iraqi date palm tree in 2015 for the first time in Safwan county, Basrah province. The Red Palm weevil has been categorized as a quarantine pest of date palm trees worldwide. In this study, a five years monitoring program has been achieved by scouting the invasive pest RPW population in Safwan county by using visual sampling and Pheromone baited traps.

Expired drug Metoclopramide was investigated as an antibacterial corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in 0.5M H₃PO₄ solution using the electrochemical method at 30^oC and 60^oC. The results showed that this drug is an efficient inhibitor for carbon steel and the efficiency reached to 82.244 % for 175 ppm at 30^oC and 76.146% for 225 ppm at 60^oC.
