In this study, a sero-survillance on ovine and caprine serum samples from all over Iraq
except the governorates of Iraqi Kurdistan region was conducted. It aimed for the detection of
specific antibodies directed against VP7 protein - the sero-group specific antigen of blue
tongue virus – by using a competitive ELISA technique.The results showed that among a total
of 3277 serum samples, 1436 samples were found to be positive forming 43.82% of total
samples, while 1687 samples were negative with 51.48 % and 154 sample were suspicious

In this study, composite materials were prepared using unsaturated polyester resin as binder with two types of fillers (sawdust and chopped reeds). The molding method is used to prepare sheets of UPE / sawdust composite and UPE / chopped reeds composite. The mechanical properties were studied including flexural strength and Young's modulus for the samples at normal conditions (N.C). studied. The samples of soil used in study are undisturbed silty clay. These samples are taken from different locations and depths of Middle and South of Iraq by cooperation with Consulting Engineering Bureau- University of Baghdad- College of Engineering. A total of 96 blood samples were collected from alive and slaughtered cattle from different areas in addition to the abattoir of Al-Qadisiyah province from December 2013 to August 2014.
