Abstract<p> This research investigates <italic>Hafnia alvei</italic> infection in rabbits exhibiting respiratory distress and sudden death in Baghdad, Iraq. Seventy-five lung samples were collected, with a 66.6% isolation rate for <italic>H. alvei</italic> . Identification was performed using the VITEK 2 compact system and 16S rRNA gene sequencing, which showed 100% homology with a reference strain (Z83203).
