The object of this work is to investigate the effect of the addition of methanol on the shelf life and color characteristics of novolak resin. Different percentages were added and two mechanisms were suggested for the addition. High ortho structure (1, 2-3) novolak resin was prepared and used in the above investigation. Experimental determination using FT-IR and UV-spectroscopy showed that on the addition of 30% of methanol and according to the second mechanism of addition novolak shelf life increased to 12 months without obvious decomposition and color change. Through social service tasks for the elderly, it natural for elder people to have some attitudes about the quality and nature of provided services, whether negative or positive. Accordingly, the current research is an attempt to investigate the attitudes of the elderly toward the social service provided to them in the nursery homes. The research sample included 60 elderly people chosen from the nursey home at Al-Karrada district and then a scale of attitudes was administered to them that had proved its reliability and validity. The research delved into outliers, their detection, and model estimation through robust methods, represented by the M estimator and multilayer artificial neural networks. difficult to determine corrosion rates of steel in high pH solutions by extrapolation of Tafel curves.Polarization resistance (Rp) must be determined in some other way.In this study an attempt was made to find (Rp) values of steel corroding in saturated Ca(OH)2 by anodic currents impressed galvanostatically to the steel from a counter electrode placed together with a reference electrode(I.e. impressed anodic current densities were (10,20,40,and 100µA/Cm2 and duration time was about 25 minutes).
