Ultrasonic absorption, velocity, viscosity, adiabatic compressibility, relaxation time and relaxation amplitude measurements are reported on different concentrations of poly(acrylic acid) solutions in common solvent water using pulsed ultrasonic apparatus technique operating at 26 kHz and 30 ºC. A mathematical model was proposed to study the microkinetics of esterification reaction of oleic acid with ethanol over prepared HY zeolite catalyst. The catalyst was prepared from Iraqi kaolin source and its properties were characterized by different techniques. The esterification was done under different temperature (40 to 70˚C) with 6:1 for molar ratio of ethanol to oleic acid and 5 % catalyst loading.

The efficiency of egg yolk emulsion in coating DNA and its delivery across cellular membranes was evaluated in comparison with liposomes DOPE . The murine leukemia viral oncogene v-abl , cloned on pBR322 was used as a DNA substrate for direct injection into mice tissue . the DNA complexes were prepared by mixing the DNA with egg yolk emulsion and liposome . Each was directly injected into mice peritoneal cavity with proper control. The gene delivery was examined phenotypically by blood analysis and cytogenetic analysis . CdS films were prepared by thermal evaporation at pressure (10-6torr) of 1μm thickness onto glass substrate by using (Mo) boat. The optical properties of CdS films, absorbance, transmittance and reflectance were studied in wavelength range of (300-900)nm. The refractive index, extinction coefficient, and absorption coefficient were also studied. It's found that CdS films have allowed direct and forbidden transition with energy gap 2.4eV and 2.25eV respectively and it also has high absorption coefficient (α >104cm-1).

Objectives. Muslims in the United States exhibit high rates of tobacco use, which make them highly vulnerable to lung cancer. Lung cancer could be avoided by regularly undergoing preventive lung screening. This study investigated the associations between Social Cognitive Theory factors and being interested in preventive lung screening in a sample of adult US Muslims.

Methods. We examined a convenience sample of adult US Muslims. A cross-sectional online survey was used to collect data. Binomial logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify the factors related to interest in preventive lung screening.

In this work, the adsorption of reactive yellow dye (Remazol yellow FG dye) by granular activated carbon (GAC) was investigated using batch and continuous process. The batch process involved determination the equilibrium isotherm curve either favorable or unfavorable by estimation relation between adsorption capacity and concentration of dye at different dosage of activated carbon. The results were fitted with equilibrium isotherm models Langmuir and Freundlich models with R2value (>0.97). Hand-lay up method was used to prepare the samples made of epoxy (EP) as a matrix reinforced with chopped carbon fibers (CCF). The fatigue behavior of epoxy resin /chopped carbon fiber composites was studied with different weight percentage of chopped carbon fibers (2.5%,5%,7.5%,10%,12.5%). The fatigue test was carried out under alternate bending method, which was made by applying sinusoidal wave with constant displacement (15mm), stress ratio R=-1,and loading frequency 10Hz, which is believed to give a negligible temperature rise during the test. The results of the maximum stress, fatigue strength, fatigue limit and fatigue life of the tested composites are calculated from stress(S)-number of cycles(N) (S-N) curves.
