This study was performd on 50 urine specimens of patients with type 2 diabetes, in addition, 50 normal specimens were investigated as control group. The activity rate of maltase in patients (6.40±2.17) I.U/ml and activity rate of maltase in normal (0.44±0.20)I.U/ml. The results of the study reveal that maltase activity of type 2 diabetes patient's urine shows significant increase (P<0.01) compare to normal.

CO2 geo-storage efficiency is strongly influenced by the wettability of the CO2-brine-mineral system. With decreasing water-wetness, both, structural and residual trapping capacities are substantially reduced. This constitutes a serious limitation for CO2 storage particularly in oil-wet formations (which are CO2-wet). To overcome this, we treated CO2-wet calcite surfaces with nanofluids (nanoparticles dispersed in base fluid) and found that the systems turned strongly water-wet state, indicating a significant wettability alteration and thus a drastic improvement in storage potential. We thus conclude that CO2 storage capacity can be significantly enhanced by nanofluid priming.

Choosing antimicrobials is a common dilemma when the expected rate of bacterial resistance is high. The observed resistance values in unequal groups of isolates tested for different antimicrobials can be misleading. This can affect the decision to recommend one antibiotic over the other. We analyzed recalled data with the statistical consideration of unequal sample groups. Data was collected concerning children suspected to have typhoid fever at Al Alwyia Pediatric Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq. The study period extended from September 2021 to September 2022. This study investigates the efficacy of sand coated with calcium / aluminum (Ca/Al)-layered double hydroxide (LDH) in the elimination of methyl orange dye from simulated groundwater using method of permeable reactive barrier. Melia azedarach L.  was introduced into Kurdistan region and planted as an ornamental tree at the nurseries, parks and streets. This study investigated the quality of wood of 9 year old M. azedarach trees grown in Duhok province. Samples of wood from five trees were taken at breast height diameter; and their wood quality was studied in terms of morphological, physical and anatomical properties. Results revealed that the values of morphological properties were: the Heartwood percentage (69.01%), Sapwood percentage (12.93%), Bark percentage (8.06%) and Annual Ring Width (7.74mm).
