To find the effect of interaction of the two elements , phosphorus and zinc, in some of the characters of two varieties of wheat (Triticum aestivum Var. Intisar) (Triticum aestivum Var. Ipa 95), An experiment was conducted in pots in the green house of the Department of Biological Science. / College of Education (Ibn-Al-Hiatham), for the season 2007/2008 using three levels of Phosphorus (0, 400, 800, mg / pot) and four levels of zinc (0, 10, 15, 20 mg / pot).  The experiment showed that the effect of the interaction of phosphorus and zinc was positive which increased the values of the features studied (length of plant, relative growth rate, nitrogen content, concentration of phosphorus and concentration of zinc) in the two varieties

  A factorial experiment was conducted at the laboratories of the College of Agriculture – Kerbala University during 2016. The aim was inhibitory efficiency for some aqueous and alcoholic extracts of Cumin, Fenugreek, Sweet Fennel and Black cumin in growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Results of Lab the extracts alcoholic, Concentrations 10, and 20 μg/ml giving to the highest percentage of inhibition from water extracts for both types of bacteria. Alcoholic extract of cumin highest percentage inhibition and concentration reached 23 and 26 mm, respectively, for the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, while the bacteria Escherichia coli giving the alcoholic extract of the concentration of 20 μg/ml

In this work lactone (1) was prepared from the reaction of p-nitro phenyl hydrazine with ethylacetoacetate, which upon treatment with benzoyl chloride afforded the lactame (2). The reaction of (2) with 2-amino phenol produced a new Schiff base (L) in good yield. Complexes of V(IV), Zr(IV), Rh(III), Pd(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) with the new Schiff base (L) have been prepared. In this work, Schiff base ligands L1: N, N-bis (2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde) hydrazine, L2: N, N-bis (salicylidene) hydrazine, and L3:N –salicylidene- hydrazine were synthesized by condensation reaction. The prepared ligands were reacted with specific divalent metal ions such as (Mn2+, Fe2+, Ni2+) to prepare their complexes. The ligands and complexes were characterized by C.H.N, FT-IR, UV-Vis, solubility, melting point and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The results show that the ligands of complexes (Mn2+, Fe2+) have octahedral geometry while the ligands of complexes (Ni2+) have tetrahedral geometry.

The work involves synthesis of new quinolin-2-one Schiff bases (XIII)a,b and (XIV)a,b, pyrazoles (XI)a,b and pyrazolines (XII)a,b derivatives containing isoxazoline or pyrimidine cycle starting with chalcones. 3-Aminoacetophenone was reacted with 4-bromobenzaldehyde or 4-N,N-dimethyl aminobenzaldehyde in basic medium to give chalcones (I)a,b by Claisen-Schemidt reaction. These chalcons were reacted with hydroxylamine hydrochloride or with thiourea in basic medium to form isoxazolines (II)a,b or pyrimidine-2-thion (III)a,b ,respectively.Also the pyrimidine-2-thiones (III)a,b and isoxazolines (II)a,b reacted with 4-or 3-substituted benzaldehyde and coumarin to form Schiff bases (IV)a-f (V)a-f and quinoline derivatives (VII)a-d(VIII)a-d, re
