Some Forms of Fault Committed by Police Officers – A Comparative Study of Civil Liability under American and Iraqi Law
...Show More Authors

Police play an important role in any society. Where they maintain public order by stopping and deterring crime and bringing criminals to justice. In order to achieve these objectives, they have certain means of law (search, arrest, use of force that may be lethal in some cases). However, such means may be misused in a way that harms members of society such as (Exceeding the Scope of a search warrant, violation of privacy of individuals, False Imprisonment, Excessive use of force, Sudden Deaths in custody, Sexual Assault and Harassment, Failure to respond for Domestic violence calls), which raises the civil liability of police officers and their agencies for such damage. Police officers may even abuse their characteristics even outside official working hours by misusing their uniforms, identifying insignia, or the weapons they carry. This research highlights some of the fault made by police officers, that raise their civil liability in the light of American law and Iraqi law, as well as the position of the American judiciary (a rich judiciary in civil cases against police officers), which demonstrates the depth of constitutional culture The legal status enjoyed by members of the American society in terms of their knowledge of their constitutional rights, and the prosecution of those who attempt to violate them even if they are policemen. The opposite is true in Iraq, where the civil action against the police is almost too few and even rare, which demonstrates the lack of constitutional and legal culture among members of Iraqi society. Although the constitutional and legal texts in the two countries are almost identical.

Extraction of Chlorophyll from Alfalfa Plant
...Show More Authors

The extraction process of chlorophyll from dehydrated and pulverized alfalfa plant were studied by percolation method. Two  solvent systems were used for the extraction namely; Ethanol-water and Hexane-Toluene systems . The effect of circulation rate, solvent concentration, and solvent volume to solid weight ratio were studied. In  both ethanol water, and Hexane-Toluene systems it appears that solvent concentration is the most effective variable.

Ultrasound of the Rotator Cuff: A Comparison of Ultrasonographic and Physical Examination Finding in SeventyCases
...Show More Authors

Background : Shoulder pain is a common problem that can pose difficult diagnostic and therapeutic challenges for the family physician It is the third most common musculoskeletal complaint in the general population, and account for 5% of all general practitioners musculoskeletal consults Objective: To determine the diagnostic performance of ultrasonography compared with the physical examination for detection of rotator cuff tears in painful shoulder syndrome. Method: Prospective study was done on seventy patients (48 male, 22 female), age ranged between 30-70 years (mean age 50 years), From February 2007 to July 2011, were subjected to comparative study in Al-Kindy teaching hospital with rotator cuff tears, including physical and ultrasonogr

Testing of a Potentially Used Antiseptic Consists of Povidon Iodine, Hydrogen Peroxide and Aloe Vera
...Show More Authors

In this study a new antiseptic was formulated and tested to match the effectiveness against microorganisms. The formulation consisted of Povidone - Iodine (PVP-I) (10%), H2O2 (3%) and Aloe Vera gel (pure). Different ratios of these materials were prepared within the acceptable range of pH for an antiseptic (3-6). The prepared samples were tested. The In Vitro test was performed by using four bacteria, two were Gram-Positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus) and two were Gram-Negative (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa). The new antiseptic showed 100% killing rate for E. coli, Ps. aeruginosa and S. aureus and 96.4667% killing rate for B. cereus. When the new antiseptic was compared with two common

In a common language based on interpretation and diagnosis in the symbols and signs, the subject of Sufism and artistic semiotics is manifested in the construction and intensity of the reading of the text and the dismantling of its intellectual systems.
The emergence of Sufism in its religious features and the spiritual revelations related to the divine love of life in absolute reality, And images and language in a stream of intellectual and artistic unique and harmonious communicates with the subject of the themes of the Arab literature and its implications, but it is separated by a special entity signals and symbols related to the mysticism and worship.

Dynamical Behavior of a Cancer Growth Model with Chemotherapy and Boosting of the Immune System
...Show More Authors

In this study, we set up and analyze a cancer growth model that integrates a chemotherapy drug with the impact of vitamins in boosting and strengthening the immune system. The aim of this study is to determine the minimal amount of treatment required to eliminate cancer, which will help to reduce harm to patients. It is assumed that vitamins come from organic foods and beverages. The chemotherapy drug is added to delay and eliminate tumor cell growth and division. To that end, we suggest the tumor-immune model, composed of the interaction of tumor and immune cells, which is composed of two ordinary differential equations. The model’s fundamental mathematical properties, such as positivity, boundedness, and equilibrium existence, are exami

The impact of different compression ratios on emissions, and combustion characteristics of a biodiesel engine
...Show More Authors

<p>The current work investigated the combustion efficiency of biodiesel engines under diverse ratios of compression (15.5, 16.5, 17.5, and 18.5) and different biodiesel fuels produced from apricot oil, papaya oil, sunflower oil, and tomato seed oil. The combustion process of the biodiesel fuel inside the engine was simulated utilizing ANSYS Fluent v16 (CFD). On AV1 diesel engines (Kirloskar), numerical simulations were conducted at 1500 rpm. The outcomes of the simulation demonstrated that increasing the compression ratio (CR) led to increased peak temperature and pressures in the combustion chamber, as well as elevated levels of CO2 and NO mass fractions and decreased CO emission values un

Effect of receiver geometry on the optical and thermal performance of a parabolic trough collector
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>In this study, the optical and thermal performance of a Parabolic Trough Collector PTC system is investigated theoretically. A series of numerical simulations and theoretical analysis has been conducted to investigate the effect of the receiver geometry and location relative to the focal line on its optical performance. The examined receiver geometries are circular, square, triangular, elliptical and a new design of circular‐ square named as channel receiver. The thermal performance of PTC is studied for different flow rates from (0.27 to 0.6 lpm) theoretically. Results showed that the best optical design is the channel receiver with an optical efficiency of 84% while the worst is the elliptical </p> ... Show More
