Automatic Image and Video Tagging Survey

     Marking content with descriptive terms that depict the image content is called “tagging,” which is a well-known method to organize content for future navigation, filtering, or searching. Manually tagging video or image content is a time-consuming and expensive process. Accordingly, the tags supplied by humans are often noisy, incomplete, subjective, and inadequate. Automatic Image Tagging can spontaneously assign semantic keywords according to the visual information of images, thereby allowing images to be retrieved, organized, and managed by tag. This paper presents a survey and analysis of the state-of-the-art approaches for the automatic tagging of video and image data. The analysis in this paper covered the publications on tagging in Scopus and the Web of Science databases from 2008 to 2022.

Link Analysis in Web Information Retrieval: a Survey

     The analysis of the hyperlink structure of the web has led to significant improvements in web information retrieval. This survey study evaluates and analyzes relevant research publications on link analysis in web information retrieval utilizing diverse methods. These factors include the research year, the aims of the research article, the algorithms utilized to complete their study, and the findings received after using the algorithms. The findings revealed that Page Rank, Weighted Page Rank, and Weighted Page Content Rank are extensively employed by academics to properly analyze hyperlinks in web information retrieval. Finally, this paper analyzes the previous studies.

A Survey paper on Lossy Audio Compression Methods

During the two last decades ago, audio compression becomes the topic of many types of research due to the importance of this field which reflecting on the storage capacity and the transmission requirement. The rapid development of the computer industry increases the demand for audio data with high quality and accordingly, there is great importance for the development of audio compression technologies, lossy and lossless are the two categories of compression. This paper aims to review the techniques of the lossy audio compression methods, summarize the importance and the uses of each method.

Survey study on Cholera Disease in South Baghdad

The study includes collection of data about cholera disease from six health centers from nine locations with 2500km2 and a population of 750000individual. The average of infection for six centers during the 2000-2003 was recorded. There were 3007 cases of diarrhea diagnosed as cholera caused by Vibrio cholerae. The percentage of male infection was 14. 7% while for female were 13. 2%. The percentage of infection for children (less than one year) was 6.1%, it while for the age (1-5 years) was 6.9%and for the ages more than 5 years was 14.5%.The total percentage of the patients stayed in hospital was 7.7%(4.2%for male and 3.4%for female). SURVEY OF INSECTS IN SOME SOUTHERN IRAQI MARSHES

This study included a survey and review of the scientific names of the marsh insects (aquatic and surrounding it) for the purpose of unifying and updating the database.
The survey reveals 109 species under 77 genera that belong to 32 families and 7 orders as follow: Coleoptera (44 species), Diptera (7 species) Ephemeroptera (2 species), Hemiptera (14 species), Hymenoptera (11 species), Lepidoptera (2 species) and Odonata with 29 species.
Information of specimens' collection for each species, synonyms and geographical distribution were provided.

Smoothing Image using Adaptive Median Filter

Median filter is adopted to match the noise statistics of the degradation seeking good quality smoothing images. Two methods are suggested in this paper(Pentagonal-Hexagonal mask and Scan Window Mask), the study involved modified median filter for improving noise suppression, the modification is considered toward more reliable results. Combined DWT and DCT Image Compression Using Sliding RLE Technique

A number of compression schemes were put forward to achieve high compression factors with high image quality at a low computational time.
