Automatic Image and Video Tagging Survey

Marking content with descriptive terms that depict the image content is called “tagging,” which is a well-known method to organize content for future navigation, filtering, or searching. Manually tagging video or image content is a time-consuming and expensive process. Accordingly, the tags supplied by humans are often noisy, incomplete, subjective, and inadequate. Automatic Image Tagging can spontaneously assign semantic keywords according to the visual information of images, thereby allowing images to be retrieved, organized, and managed by tag. This paper presents a survey and analysis of the state-of-the-art approaches for the automatic tagging of video and image data. The analysis in this paper covered the publications on tagging in Scopus and the Web of Science databases from 2008 to 2022.

Link Failure Recovery for a Large-Scale Video Surveillance System using a Software-Defined Network

The software-defined network (SDN) is a new technology that separates the control plane from data plane for the network devices. One of the most significant issues in the video surveillance system is the link failure. When the path failure occurs, the monitoring center cannot receive the video from the cameras. In this paper, two methods are proposed to solve this problem.  The first method uses the Dijkstra algorithm to re-find the path at the source node switch. The second method uses the Dijkstra algorithm to re-find the path at the ingress node switch (or failed link).

Experimental Investigation of a Laser Wireless Video Communication System Using Intensity Modulated /Direct Detection Technique

In this work Laser wireless video communication system using intensity modualtion direct
detection IM/DD over a 1 km range between transmitter and receiver is experimentally investigated and
demonstrated. Beam expander and beam collimeter were implemented to collimete laser beam at the
transmitter and focus this beam at the receiver respectively. The results show that IM/DD communication
sysatem using laser diode is quite attractive for transmitting video signal. In this work signal to noise
ratio (S/N) higher than 20 dB is achieved in this work.

Monochrome Image Hologram (MIH)

A new computer-generated optical element called a monochrome image hologram (MIH) is described. A real nonnegative function to represent the transmittance of a synthesized hologram is used. This technique uses the positions of the samples in the synthesized hologram to record the phase information of a complex wavefront. Synthesized hologram is displayed on laser printer and is recorded on a film. Finally the reconstruction process is done using computerized .

Watermarking in Medical Image

Medical image security is possible using digital watermarking techniques. Important information is included in a host medical image in order to provide integrity, consistency, and authentication in the healthcare information system. This paper introduces a proposed method for embedding invisible watermarking in the 3D medical image. The cover medical image used is DICOM which consists of a number of slices, each one representing a sense, firstly must separate the ROI (Region of Interest) and NROI (Not Region Of Interest) for each slice, the separation process performed by the particular person who selected by hand the ROI. The embedding process is based on a key generated from Arnold's chaotic map used as the position of a pixel in

Image Steganography by Using Multiwavelet Transform

Steganography is the art of secret communication. Its purpose is to hide the presence of information, using, for example, images as covers. The frequency domain is well suited for embedding in image, since hiding in this frequency domain coefficients is robust to many attacks. This paper proposed hiding a secret image of size equal to quarter of the cover one. Set Partitioning in Hierarchal Trees (SPIHT) codec is used to code the secret image to achieve security. The proposed method applies Discrete Multiwavelet Transform (DMWT) for cover image. The coded bit stream of the secret image is embedded in the high frequency subbands of the transformed cover one. A scaling factors ? and ? in frequency domain control the quality of the stego

Automatic Extraction of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)-based Cadastral Map: Case Study in AL-Shatrah District- Iraq

Cadastral map environment is directed, more than ever before, towards Artificial Intelligence use to produce fast and accurate maps and keep up with the huge population growth. The traditional approach currently in production of maps is expensive and effort-intensive in addition to be considered as highly time-consuming process.  UAV-based cadastral mapping imagery that use automatic techniques are newly being exploited to accelerate the process of production or updating. The state-of-the-art intelligent algorithms are capable to extract land boundaries from images better than conventional techniques. This paper presents an automatic workflow of cadastral map production based on land boundary and automatic f

Image Steganography Based on Wavelet Transform and Histogram Modification

Recently, digital communication has become a critical necessity and so the Internet has become the most used medium and most efficient for digital communication. At the same time, data transmitted through the Internet are becoming more vulnerable. Therefore, the issue of maintaining secrecy of data is very important, especially if the data is personal or confidential. Steganography has provided a reliable method for solving such problems. Steganography is an effective technique in secret communication in digital worlds where data sharing and transfer is increasing through the Internet, emails and other ways. The main challenges of steganography methods are the undetectability and the imperceptibility of con

Estimating Water Quality from Satellite Image and Reflectance Data

The useful of remote sensing techniques in Environmental Engineering and another science is to save time, Coast and efforts, also to collect more accurate information under monitoring mechanism. In this research a number of statistical models were used for determining the best relationships between each water quality parameter and the mean reflectance values generated for different channels of radiometer operate simulated to the thematic Mappar satellite image. Among these models are the regression models which enable us to as certain and utilize a relation between a variable of interest. Called a dependent variable; and one or more independent variables
