An experimental and numerical study was carried out to investigate the heat transfer by natural convection in a three dimensional annulus enclosure filled with porous media (silica sand) between two inclined concentric cylinders with (and without) annular fins attached to the inner cylinder under steady state condition. The experiments were carried out for a range of modified Rayleigh number (0.2 ≤Ra*≤ 11) and extended to Ra*=500 for numerical study and for annulus inclination angle of (δ = 0˚, 30˚, 60˚ and 90˚). The numerical study was to give the governing equation under assumptions that used Darcy law and Boussinesq’s approximation and then it was solved numerically using finite difference approximation. It was found that the average Nusselt number depends on (Ra*, Hf, δ and Rr ). The results showed that the increasing of the fin length increases the heat transfer rate for any fin pitch unless the area of the inner cylinder exceeds that of the outer one; then the heat will be stored in the porous media. A comparison was made between the results of the present work and those of other researches for the case without fins and excellent agreement was obtained.
The fluctuation and expansion ratios have been studied for cylindrical gas-solid fluidized columns by using air as fluidizing medium and Paracetamol as the bed material. The variables were the column diameter (0.0762, 0.15, and 0.18 m), static bed height (0.05, 0.07, and 0.09 m), and air velocity to several times of minimum fluidization velocity. The results showed that both the fluctuation and expansion ratios had a direct relation with air velocity and an inverse one with column diameter and static bed height. A good agreement was between the experimental results and the calculated values by using the correlation equations from the literature.

In this paper, a computer simulation is implemented to generate of an optical aberration by means of Zernike polynomials. Defocus, astigmatism, coma, and spherical Zernike aberrations were simulated in a subroutine using MATLAB function and applied as a phase error in the aperture function of an imaging system. This research deals with the investigation of dielectric properties for PVC-LiF composite films as a function of frequency and temperature in the ranges of 100 to 107 Hz and 293 - 370 K, respectively. Reaction of Na2PdCl4 with benz-1,3-imidazole-2-thione or (bzimtH) benz-1,3-thiazoline2-thione (bztztH) in ethanol / NE3 afford complexes of the type [Pd(bzimt)2](1) and [Pd(bztzt)2](2) respectively. Treatment of [Pd(L)2] L= bzimt or bztzt with bidentate ligands (N^N) where N^N= bipyridine (Bipy) , phenanthroline (Phen) , ethylene diamine , or N,N′dimethylethylene diamine afford mononuclear complexes of the type [PdL2(N^N)]. The bzimt and bztzt ligands are coordinated as bidentate chelating ligands through the S and N in (1) and (2) whereas bonded as a monodentate fashion via the sulfur atom in other complexes. The prepared complexes were characterized by elemental CHN analysis, ir and 1H nmr spectra.
