The method of powder technology has been utilized in fabrication of machinable
ceramics by the approach of glass-ceramic principles. The crystalline ceramic phases
partially dissolved by host glass while the undissolved part remain responsible for the
machinability by the usual cutting tools. Thus avoiding the unnecessary use of special
dies to cast fully melted composition and initiate recrystallization process. Two types of
machinable ceramics have been successfully prepared, the first with high silica content
and the other with high alumina content. A comparison of their properties and discussed.

The current paper aims to study the different forms by which the theme of labyrinth imposes itself as a preferred narrative structure in the novels of the French writer Patrick Modiano. It's challenging to help EFL students in Iraq learn and use synonyms. This study investigates the challenges faced by Iraqi English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students in understanding and employing synonyms. By employing Langacker's cognitive linguistic theory of domains, the research aims to enhance EFL Iraqi students' synonym knowledge and vocabulary acquisition. The study utilizes a descriptive analysis technique, with a pre-test and post-test design, involving fifty first-year students at the University of Baghdad's College of Languages, Department of English.
