Although the Arabic haiku has its roots in Japanese poetry structure, it frequently deviates from conventional Arabic prosody, showing only sporadic adherence to its guidelines. Arab poets have made an effort to use the haiku form while adhering to the prosody and linguistic limitations of Arabic. In spite of these efforts, the haiku usually exhibits a noticeable defiance of the limitations of conventional Arabic prosody in its Arabic form. It is crucial to critically analyze this non-conforming structure because of its origins in Japanese religious incantations. Arab poets have modified the haiku through a process of reinterpretation, essentially changing its original form into a concise form of modern poetry expression. This research endeavors to clarify the basic features and etymology of haiku, compare its structural expressions in Arabic and Japanese literature, and then offer the findings from this comparative study
This paper studies the demonstratives as deictic expressions in Standard Arabic and English by outlining their phonological, syntactic and semantic properties in the two languages. On the basis of the outcome of this outline, a contrastive study of the linguistic properties of this group of deictic expressions in the two languages is conducted next. The aim is to find out what generalizations could be made from the results of this contrastive study.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of credit risk indicators on the Arab Gulf countries' banks Profitability over the period of 2015 to 2017. The banking credit risk was calculated using non-performing loans ratio affecting banks profitability indicators like net income and by using fixed effect and random effect model analyses, the study found that increasing in non-performing loans ratio will decrease the net income in gulf banks, the study also found that personal loans represent the largest share of loans granted in gulf banks. ABSTRACT This paper has a three-pronged objective: offering a unitary set of semantic distinctive features to the analysis of nominal “hatred synonyms” in the lexicon of both English and Standard Arabic (SA), applying it procedurally to test its scope of functionality crosslinguistically, and singling out the closest noun synonymous equivalents among the membership of the two sets in this particular lexical semantic field in both languages.
