Summary

I graduated with a BSc degree in Pharmacy from the University of Baghdad in 2003. I worked as an intern pharmacist in the Medical City in Baghdad for the years 2004-2005. Then I was transferred to the College of Pharmacy/ University of Baghdad as a teaching assistant between 2005 and 2012. I got my MSc degree in Clinical Pharmacy under the supervision of Assistant Professor Ibrahim Adham. After completion I worked as an assistant lecturer in the College Of Pharmacy/ University of Baghdad for the period 2014-2018. I have been promoted to Lecturer in 2018, and to an Assistant Professor in 2020. In 2020 I have started my PhD degree in Clinical Pharmacy under the supervision of Professor Dr. Shatha H. Ali and Assistant Professor Dr. Gheyath Al-Gawwam, and I completed it in 2023.

Integrin alpha-4 gene polymorphism in relation to natalizumab response in multiple sclerosis patients

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the possible the association between +3061 (G>A, rs1143676) missense mutation in exon 24 of the integrin α-4 subunit (ITGA-4) gene and the response to natalizumab in a sample of Iraqi multiple sclerosis patients. Methods: A sample of 59 patients with multiple sclerosis (16 males and 43 females; mean age of 32 years; age range of 15 to 52 years) receiving natalizumab for at least 12 consecutive months were involved in the study between March and August/ 2022. Knowledge and Attitudes of Vaccination among Iraqi Pharmacy Students

Objective: Since the vaccination rate is largely affected by low knowledge and negative attitudes ofhealthcare professionals, so this study aimed to weigh up the vaccination knowledge and attitudes ofpharmacy students.Method: A pilot study using a survey to investigate demographic data, knowledge (20 questions), andattitudes (5 questions) of 156 fifth year and 121 third year pharmacy students from College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad.Results: The mean score of knowledge and attitudes was intermediate (16.654 and 14.917 out of 25 for thefifth and the third grades, respectively) with a significant difference between the two groups, the studentsshown to have favorable attitudes about vaccination. Health Literacy among Women with Different Educational States in Baghdad

Health literacy is an important method used by the authorities to strengthen the health system. The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge of some basic health principles among women of different educational states. This is a crosssectional study, performed from December 2014 until January 2016, Baghdad. All candidates were: females > 18 years, neither medical staff nor students. Evaluation of self-medication among Iraqi pharmacy students

Background: Practicing self-medication is common and a worrisome issue because of irrational drug use. This study aimed to evaluate self-medication knowledge and views among the final year pharmacy students in Iraq.  Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from December 2018 to January 2019. Effect of Administration of Crystalloid IV Fluids Preoperatively on Postoperative Pain

Pain is a sensory and emotional experience that is influenced by physiologic, sensory, affective, cognitive, socio-cultural and behavioral factors. Postoperative pain is the commonest reason for delayed discharge and unanticipated hospital admission after ambulatory surgery.
