INFLUENCE OF LENS ON MIGRATION OF DENSE NON-AQUEOUS PHASE LIQUID IN SATURATED ZONE
...Show More Authors

This study concerns the control of movement of Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL) in saturated zone in the presence of relatively low permeability lens. A two-dimensional, finite-difference numerical model for the simultaneous movement of the DNAPL and water through the saturated zone of the soil is developed. The system is, actually, a three fluid phase system (water, DNAPL and air) but in the derivation of the model, air was treated as an immobile phase at constant atmospheric pressure. The flow equations for Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid and water are cast in terms of the wetting and non-wetting fluid pressure heads respectively. The finite- difference equations are solved fully implicitly using Newton-Raphson iteration scheme wi

THE EFFECT OF VARIATION OF NONLINEAR LOAD ON POWER FACTOR OF THE AC SUPPLY NETWORK
...Show More Authors

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effect of the converter system on the power factor of the supply network .Therefore a 3-phase, 6-pulse , bridge converter is assembled and connected to a power supply through a 3-phase ac voltage regulator .The theoretical analysis is simulated using Fourier series analysis and Fast Fourier Transform ( FFT ) algorithm . The experimental measurements of distortion factor , displacement factor and total power factor are recorded . The experimental results are shown to be coincident with the theoretical results. The consideration of power factor improvement relative to distortion and displacement factors is discussed.

The Concept of Contract Duration
...Show More Authors

Time is an essential element of contracts، as there is an independent in many parts of each contract، but the time dimension has a significant impact on the provisions of all contracts and is not limited to a particular range of contracts، and French and Arab jurists alike have called for this dimension to be given special attention، and as a result the French legislator has introduced the term duration of the contract، to try to limit the temporal elements، to clarify their provisions and to distinguish between them in decree131/2 016، but for our Arab country it did not receive the appropriate answer. The problem of duration in contracts relates to the lack of clarity of the idea، and then to confuse the various time terms in the

The effect of three high temperatures for five exposure periods on the developments of larvae, pupae and adults of Trogoderma granarium (Everts) and their biological performance were investigated. The results revealed that the percent of mortality was increased as the temperature and the exposure period increased, e. g. exposing last instar larvae to 45°C for 6 hrs caused 100% death of this stage, while exposing adults (1-3) days old to the same temperature and exposure time resulted in that these adults did not able to survive more than 24 hrs.; in addition, the results showed that the ability of reproduction of adults was depended on the temperature, duration of exposure and the sex.

Precipitation is the most important weather parameter, which has direct and indirect effects on life on our planet.  One of the most relevant climate change consequences is extreme weather conditions, such as floods and droughts.  Up to now, climate model projections have remained uncertain, therefore, more accurate precipitation modelling techniques are necessary. Due to the complexity of relationships among metrological parameters, traditional statistical modelling tools are ineffective in forecasting and predicting weather conditions. In this study, data mining techniques were applied to metrological data to predict daily precipitation using Multilinear regression (MLR) along with two artificial intelligence (AI) te

Gypseous soil is considered as a problematic soil for embankment construction, however, implementation of emulsified asphalt as a stabilization agent could be a proper solution for enhancing its properties as a subgrade soil. Abstract Since unmethylated CpG motifs are more common in DNA from bacteria than vertebrates, and the unmethylated CpG motif has recently been reported to have stimulatory effects on lymphocytes, we speculated that bacterial DNA may induce inflammation in the urinary tract. To determine the role of bacterial DNA in lower UTI, we intraurethrally injected prokaryotic DNA (extracted from E. coli) in white mice and performed histopathological study for the kidneys and urinary bladders, 24 h after the exposure. The results showed infiltration of inflammatory cells, shrinkage of glomerulus and increase the capsular space, as well as edema formation in kidney tissues. Moreover, urinary bladder sections showed infiltration of inflammatory cells.
