This study concerns the control of movement of Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL) in saturated zone in the presence of relatively low permeability lens. A two-dimensional, finite-difference numerical model for the simultaneous movement of the DNAPL and water through the saturated zone of the soil is developed. The system is, actually, a three fluid phase system (water, DNAPL and air) but in the derivation of the model, air was treated as an immobile phase at constant atmospheric pressure. The flow equations for Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid and water are cast in terms of the wetting and non-wetting fluid pressure heads respectively. The finite- difference equations are solved fully implicitly using Newton-Raphson iteration scheme wi

The experimental measurements of distortion factor , displacement factor and total power factor are recorded . The experimental results are shown to be coincident with the theoretical results. The consideration of power factor improvement relative to distortion and displacement factors is discussed.

Seven fish species were collected from the drainage network at Al-Madaen region, south of
Baghdad with the aid of a cast net during the period from March to August 1993. These fishes
were infected with 22 parasite species (seven sporozoans, three ciliated protozoans, seven
monogeneans, two nematodes, one acanthocephalan and two crustaceans) and one fungus
species. Among such parasites, Chloromyxum wardi and Cystidicola sp. are reported here for
the first time in Iraq. In addition, 11 new host records are added to the list of parasites of
fishes of Iraq.
This study was aimed to use GIS techniques in climate studies. Analysis of monthly wind speed data for the period 1981 to 2017, and mapping of monthly, seasonal and annual wind speed in Iraq has been investigated in this study. The area of study was divided into three regions. the results of Mann Kendall test of the middle and southern region reveal a significant decreasing trend in the months of the summer season. While positive trends of mean wind speed were found in the northern region for the whole period. Wind speed value reaches its highest value in (Jun and July), and the lowest value of wind speed was in December. Seasonal wind speeds show the highest values recorded in the summer and spring seasons and the lo

The results revealed that the percent of mortality was increased as the temperature and the exposure period increased, e. g. exposing last instar larvae to 45°C for 6 hrs caused 100% death of this stage, while exposing adults (1-3) days old to the same temperature and exposure time resulted in that these adults did not able to survive more than 24 hrs.; in addition, the results showed that the ability of reproduction of adults was depended on the temperature, duration of exposure and the sex.

It will be applied on adding copper nano particles and study it's effect on shape recovery for a shape memory alloy (83% Cu- 13% Al- 4%Ni). Different proportions of nano were added to the alloy in return for changing the proportion of copper while maintaining the proportions of nickel and aluminum constant. Powder metallurgy technique was used to manufactured the samples. Precipitation is the most important weather parameter, which has direct and indirect effects on life on our planet. One of the most relevant climate change consequences is extreme weather conditions, such as floods and droughts. Up to now, climate model projections have remained uncertain, therefore, more accurate precipitation modelling techniques are necessary. Due to the complexity of relationships among metrological parameters, traditional statistical modelling tools are ineffective in forecasting and predicting weather conditions. In this study, data mining techniques were applied to metrological data to predict daily precipitation using Multilinear regression (MLR) along with two artificial intelligence (AI) te

The results showed infiltration of inflammatory cells, shrinkage of glomerulus and increase the capsular space, as well as edema formation in kidney tissues.
