In this work, the effect of Zn dopant on structural and optical properties of cadmium oxides, CdO, thin film were studied prepared by pulse laser deposition on glass substrate then annealed at 250 ᵒC in air. All films were examined by X-ray diffraction and UV- visible spectrometer. The XRD analysis shows appearance of new phase identical with hexagonal ZnO additional with cubic phase at high Zn content, which effected on the optical properties. The optical energy gap increase from 2.45 eV to 2.70 eV with increasing Zn content from 0 to 40 %.
This research project was designed to evaluate the antibacterial activity of three different portions (pulp, peel, seeds) of Annona squamosa fruit using three different extraction solvents (water, ethanol, and acetone). The experiment performed by using agar well diffusion method against Gram-positive human pathogenic bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacteria, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Escherichia coli and each organism showed different patterns of inhibition zones. Antibacterial activity of various solvent extracts of the pulp showed noticeable inhibitory activity against almost all the tested pathogens except K. pneumoniae who was resistant to water extract of pulp
... Show MoreThis study was conducted for the period from 1/9/2016 to 30/3/2017 in Baquba city in Iraq. Eighty nine samples were collected from different infections from Baquba General Hospital and Al-Batool Hospital. Fifteen isolates (16.85%) were found to be Pseudomonas aeruginosa by using biochemical test. The bacterial diagnosis of all these isolates (100%) were confirmed by VITEK2, beside its possession of the 16s rDNA gene as determined by molecular detection.
The results of virulence factors that had Pseudomonas aeruginosa showed possession of all isolates many virulence factors and a high production of which increases the pathogenicity of it. All isolates were able to produce hemolysin (100%), protease (73.33%), and

Problems of fixed routes appear such that even when they reduce the chance for conflict, they also produce flight paths plans that do not reduce flight time or fuel usage. In nowadays Airlines are heavily overloaded and anxious to minimize the aircrafts fuel usage costs, increase airplanes, and optimize the paths or the flight routes in order to find the most optimal suitable flight paths. This paper presents a new path planning method that deal with such problem effectively, the idea was to produce flights routes

This study aimed to determine the seropositivity of toxoplasmosis infection and the possible association with Interleukin-12 (IL-12) and Interleukin-23 (IL-23) cytokines in breast cancer patients. In this study, 190 women were enrolled. All serum samples were tested for T. gondii immunoglobulins (IgG and IgM) antibodies and (IL-12, IL-23) levels using ELISA technique. The result of this study showed that breast cancer patients recorded the highest percentage of toxoplasmosis infection. There were no positivity rates for anti- Toxopl

Twenty five chicken meat samples were collected randomly from local markets in Baghdad city during 2017; Citrobacter was isolated from the collected samples using selective and differential media and identified using biochemical tests, the identification was confirmed using Vitek 2 compact and polymerase chain reaction for 16S rRNA and the isolated bacteria identified as C. freundii.
Biofilm formation represents one of the biggest problems facing scientists because of this phenomenon linkage with virulence of bacteria and other clinical environmental problems. In the present study, two clinical isolates,
Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus were exposed to the non thermal plasma for different intervals of time (1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 min). The biofilm was measured post exposing. It was found that 2 min. exposing to non-thermal plasma reduced the biofilm formation by both clinical isolates significantly. It can be concluded that the ability of S. aureus to form biofilm higher than E. coli and exposing for 2 min to non-thermal plasma sufficient to reduce the biofilm formati
In this contribution new oxazepine compounds containing azo group were preppared. In the firststep,4-(dimethylamino)-3-((4-methoxy phenyl) diazenyl) benzaldehyde [Z] was synthesised by using 4-methoxyaniline. The second step was the condensation reaction between aldehyde group of the azo compound [Z] and
different primary aromatic amines [4-hydroxyaniline, 4-chloroaniline and 4-amino- N-(pyrimidin-2-yl) benzenesulfonamide] to yield new azo Schiff bases compounds [A1-A3] respectively. In the final step, oxazepine compounds [B1-B3] and [B4-B6] were prepared from reaction imines compounds [A1-A3] with maleic anhydride and phathalic anhydride in dry benzene respectively. All these derivatives were c
Honey is one of the most products has been used as an antimicrobial agent since the ancient times. The potential antimicrobial activity of honey is arise from its physiochemical proprieties such as high osmotic pressure, low pH, in addition to other factors and enzymes that work as antimicrobial agents. All these components and characteristics of honey led to consider it as one of the most efficient, useful and natural antimicrobial agents. From this point of view, recent study aim to evaluate the antibacterial activity of bee honey on some common species of pathogenic bacteria. The study included some of both gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Streptococcus spp.)

The first part includes calculating the latitude and longitude of each point of the study area using the Global Positioning System (GPS). The second part of which includes Determination of 222Rn gas concentrations in surface soil samples. In the northeast part of Baghdad, the highest concentration of radon was found in Al-

In this work, the Al-Mg alloys plasma plume that produced under vacuum (10-1 torr) by Nd:Yag Laser was studied. the plasma spectra were analyzed by comparing the atomic lines of Al and Mg lines with standard lines. The effect of laser energies on spectral lines produced by laser ablation were investigated using optical

Ten species of edible mushrooms (higher fungi) were tested for their ability to reduce cholesterol and glucose in mice blood. The powders of dried fruit bodies of these mushrooms were mixed with standard mice diet at 5 and 10% (on dry wt.). This diet was also supplemented with 2% of pure cholesterol and glucose. Though the significant reduction of blood cholesterol and glucose in mice fed on all tested mushrooms (at both concentrations) was recorded, maximum reduction of blood cholesterol in mice fed on 10% of Pleurotas ostreanus (Gray types, Lentous edodes, Pleurotus ostreatus (White type), Ganoderma lucidum and Pleurotus sajor caju was 52.55, 50, 485, 46.6 and 18.1% in males, and 50,42, 48.72, 46.4, 41.4 and 38.1% in females, respectiv

For unirradiated samples the results showed that (n) increases in rich PP sample while (k) declared strong dependence on blends ratio and revealed systematie variation. It was found that (n) increases as a result of irradiation by gamma-ray with doses (80 and 240) kGy indicating that polymer chain crosslinking is the dominate phenomena, while for irradiation with dose 160 kGy (n) is found to decrease indicating that
