Optimization Kerosene Bio-degradation by a Local Soil Bacterium Isolate Klebsiella pneumoniae Sp. pneumonia

Isolated Bacteria from the roots of barley were studied; two stages of processes Isolated and screening were applied in order to find the best bacteria to remove kerosene from soil. The active bacteria are isolated for kerosene degradation process. It has been found that Klebsiella pneumoniae sp. have the highest kerosene degradation which is 88.5%. The optimum conditions of kerosene degradation by Klebsiella pneumonia sp. are pH5, 48hr incubation period, 35°C temperature and 10000ppm the best kerosene concentration. The results 10000ppm showed that the maximum kerosene degradation can reach 99.58% after 48 h of incubation. Higher Kerosene degradation which was 99.83% was obtained at pH5. Kerosene degradation was found to be maximum at 35°C with 98.63%, where 10000ppm kerosene showed the highest degradation at 99.527%. The results indicate that the isolated Klebsiella pneumonia sp. is extremely efficient in degrading kerosene hydrocarbons.

Crystal Violet Binding Assay for Assessment of Biofilm Formation by Klebsiella pneumoniae on Catheter, Glass and Stainless-steel Surfaces

In this paper, quantified study of the biofilm formed by Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from urine specimen of patient suffering from acute urinary tract infection (UTI) on catheter, stainless-steel and glass coupon surfaces, as well as determine the relationship between time contact and biofilm progression using crystal-violet binding assay based on the values of optical density at 620nm of the crystal violet stain which bonded total biofilm biomass by resolubizing with 99.9% ethanol at the specific interval times. Using local Iraqi Bacillus isolate to reduce water salinity

Microbial desalination cell (MDC) has been created for expelling water saltiness, power generation, and wastewater administration. The MDC comprised of three chambers (anode, center desalination, and cathode).Were tested ability of type locally isolated bacteria Bacillus spp.in produce electricity to water desalination. In recent study results showed that a remove where the salinity recorded 4000 ppm at room temperature at the voltages of 0.6 volts and less salinity at room temperature at 0.2 volts was 200 ppm. Recent results highlight the need to reduce time for reduce salinity decreased from 3500 ppm to 500 ppm the eleventh day at a voltage of 0.5 volts that depended on type of substrate.

Twenty-seven S. aureus isolates were obtained from patients referring various hospitals in Baghdad. Only 17 isolates produced DNase. SNase was extracted and purified from Saphylococcus aureus 3 isolate since it produces the largest zone of clearance on DNase agar. Nevertheless, only those phenotypically-producer of DNase harboured nuc gene. Present study revealed that the crude enzyme had a specific activity of 50.66 unit/mg; while it reached 241 unit/mg after ion exchange chromatography using carboxymethyl cellulose column. Colistin Susceptibility in Carbapenem Resistant Klebsiella Pneumoniae and their Ability of Biofilm Formation

A total of 157 clinical samples were collected from different clinical specimens (urine, sputum, blood, swabs, and cannula) from several hospitals in Iraq. Among the samples, 51 isolates (32.48%) of Klebsiella pneumoniae were identified according to morphologicaland cultural characteristics as well as the Enterosystem 18R test. Higher numbers of K. pneumoniae isolates were observed in urine samples (26, 52%) than the other samples, and in females (70.6%) than males (29.4%) (female: male ratio of about 2.4:1).
