     Background: ¹⁸F-FDG positron emission tomography (PET) has established itself in the field of oncology and it is useful in the initial staging and follow-up of a variety of malignancies. Significant thyroid uptake is often identified as an accidental finding on whole-body positron emission tomography for non-thyroid disease.

Aim of this study: to investigate the effect of ¹⁸F-FDG on thyroid gland function after performing PET scan compared to thyroid function prior to scan.

Materials and Methods:  43 subjects who had an ¹⁸F-FDG PET scan as part of a cancer screening program participated in this study. All cancers  are diagnosed using ¹⁸F-FDG, except for prostate cancer,

 Prepared zeolite type A was used for theremoval of cesium ions from aqueous solution. The experimental data were analyzed by Langmuir, Freundlich isotherms. Various parameters, such as contact time, zeolite weight, pH, and initial concentration, were studied. The results indicated that the highest removal efficiency was95.53% at (2h time, 0.04 g weight, and pH=6.8). The results also showed that the Freundlic model fits well with the experimental results and is better than the Langmuir model.

    The depth conversion process is a significant task in seismic interpretation to establish the link between the seismic data in the time domain and the drilled wells in the depth domain. To promote the exploration and development of the Subba oilfield, more accurate depth conversion is required. In this paper, three approaches of depth conversions: Models 1, 2, and 3 are applied from the simplest to the most complex on Nahr Umr Reservoir in Suba oilfield. During the winter, in the industry region (Shaikh Omer) and by applying a passive radon detector (CR-39), lung cancer risk has been measured in twelve rooms of different workshops of two old factories in this site. The radon concentration is ranged from (123.345 Bq/m³) to (328.985 Bq/m³) with an average of (244.19±61.52 Bq/m³). Lung cancer risk ranged from 55.993 to 149.346 per million people and with an average of (110.855 per million people) which were lower than the recommended values (170-230 per million people), so there was no cancer risk on workers in these locations.
