Facies Architecture and Diagenetic Features Development of Albian-Early Turonian Succession in Luhais Oil field, Southern Iraq
...Show More Authors

Clastic-carbonate succession which including the Nahr Umr and Mauddud Formations are represented a part of Albian-Early Turonian Sequence (Wasi`a Group). The present study includes Petrography, microfacies analysis, depositional environment, digenetic development, and reservoir characterization for seven boreholes (Lu-2, Lu-4, Lu-5, Lu-8, Lu-13, Lu-14 and Lu-39) within Luhais Oil field South Iraq.
There are six type of carbonate microfacies were recognized in the Mauddud Formation:- Orbitolina - Milliolids wackestone to packstone Orbitolina wackestone to packstone, miliolids wackestone, Peloidal wackestone to packstone, Ooides to Peloids grainstone and bioclastic Wackestone - Packstone. These microfacies are represented three depositional environments: restricted shallow marine environment, semi-restricted shallow marine environment and Shoal environments. While the Nahr Umr Formation characterized by six lithofacies; Lithofacies I (Mudstone), Lithofacies II (Siltstone - Claystone), Lithofacies III (Lenticular Bedded Sandstone-Mudstone), Lithofacies IV (Falser Bedded Mudstone - Sandstone), Lithofacies V (Parallel Lamination Sandstone - Siltstone) and Lithofacies VI (Well sorted sandstone). These lithofacies are suggested four depositional environment of Nahr Umr Formation: Active channel environment, channel fill environment, delta plain environment and delta front and shore face environment.
The most common diagenetic features observed and distribution in the studied sections includes Micritization, Cementation, Leaching (dissolution), dolomitization and Compaction fabrics. The most effective diagenetic processes were cementation, dissolution and dolomitization processes which have direct affect upon the study sections.
The Nahr Umr and Mauddud sequence can be divided by the gamma ray and shale value into three zones (A, B and C); therefore we have interpretation of the logs porosity and porosity evaluation according to these divisions.

Antifungal Activity of Bioactive Compounds Produced by the Endophytic Fungus Paecilomyces sp. (JN227071.1) against Rhizoctonia solani
...Show More Authors

Biologically active natural compounds are molecules produced by plants or plant-related microbes, such as endophytes. Many of these metabolites have a wide range of antimicrobial activities and other pharmaceutical properties. This study aimed to evaluate (in vitro) the antifungal activities of the secondary metabolites obtained from Paecilomyces sp. against the pathogenic fungus Rhizoctonia solani. The endophytic fungus Paecilomyces was isolated from Moringa oleifera leaves and cultured on potato dextrose broth for the production of the fungal metabolites. The activity of Paecilomyces filtrate against the radial growth of Rhizoctonia solani was tested by mixing the filtrate with potato dextrose agar medium at concentrations of 15%,

Detection of CTX-M-type ESBLs from Escherichia coli Clinical Isolates from a Tertiary Hospital, Malaysia
...Show More Authors

The present study aims to detect CTX-M-type ESBL from Escherichia coli clinical isolates and to analyze their antibotic susceptibility patterns. One hundred of E. coli isolates were collected from different clinical samples from a tertiary hospital. ESBL positivity was determined by the disk diffusion method. PCR used for amplification of CTX-M-type ESBL produced by E. coli. Out of 100 E. coli isolates, twenty-four isolates (24%) were ESBL-producers. E. coli isolated from pus was the most frequent clinical specimen that produced ESBL (41.66%) followed by urine (34.21%), respiratory (22.23%), and blood (19.05%).  After PCR amplification of these 24 isolates, 10 (41.66%) isolates were found to possess CTX-M genes. The CTX-M type ESBL

Surfactant Cloud Point Extraction as a Procedure of Preconcentrating for Metoclopramide Determination Using Spectro Analytical Technique
...Show More Authors

In current article an easy and selective method is proposed for spectrophotometric estimation of metoclopramide (MCP) in pharmaceutical preparations using cloud point extraction (CPE) procedure. The method involved reaction between MCP with 1-Naphthol in alkali conditions using Triton X-114 to form a stable dark purple dye. The Beer’s law limit in the range 0.34-9 μg mL-1 of MCP with r =0.9959 (n=3) after optimization. The relative standard deviation (RSD) and percentage recoveries were 0.89 %, and (96.99–104.11%) respectively. As well, using surfactant cloud point extraction as a method to extract MCP was reinforced the extinction coefficient(ε) to 1.7333×105L/mol.cm in surfactant-rich phase. The small volume of organi

The correction of the line profiles for x-ray diffraction peaks by using three analysis methods
...Show More Authors

In this study used three methods such as Williamson-hall, size-strain Plot, and Halder-Wagner to analysis x-ray diffraction lines to determine the crystallite size and the lattice strain of the nickel oxide nanoparticles and then compare the results of these methods with two other methods. The results were calculated for each of these methods to the crystallite size are (0.42554) nm, (1.04462) nm, and (3.60880) nm, and lattice strain are (0.56603), (1.11978), and (0.64606) respectively were compared with the result of Scherrer method (0.29598) nm,(0.34245),and the Modified Scherrer (0.97497). The difference in calculated results Observed for each of these methods in this study.

Solution of Time-Varying Index-2 Linear Differential Algebraic Control Systems Via A Variational Formulation Technique
...Show More Authors

This paper deals with finding an approximate solution to the index-2 time-varying linear differential algebraic control system based on the theory of variational formulation. The solution of index-2 time-varying differential algebraic equations (DAEs) is the critical point of the equivalent variational formulation. In addition, the variational problem is transformed from the indirect into direct method by using a generalized Ritz bases approach. The approximate solution is found by solving an explicit linear algebraic equation, which makes the proposed technique reliable and efficient for many physical problems. From the numerical results, it can be implied that very good efficiency, accuracy, and simplicity of the pre
