Review of Automatic Speaker Profiling: Features, Methods, and Challenges

Automatic Speaker Profiling (ASP), is concerned with estimating the physical traits of a person from their voice. These traits include gender, age, ethnicity, and physical parameters. Reliable ASP has a wide range of applications such as mobile shopping, customer service, robotics, forensics, security, and surveillance systems.  Research in ASP has gained interest in the last decade, however, it was focused on different tasks individually, such as age, height, or gender. In this work, a review of existing studies on different tasks of speaker profiling is performed. These tasks include age estimation and classification, gender detection, height, and weight estimation This study aims to provide insight into the work of ASP, available datasets, feature extraction techniques, and learning models. Further, the performance of current speaker profiling systems is investigated. Finally, the challenges of speaker profiling are presented at the end of this review.

The Use of Parametric and Nonparametric Methods to Study the Effects of Smoking on High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol

Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is one of the most widely used methods in statistics to analyze the behavior of one variable compared to another. The data were collected from a sample size of 65 adult males who were nonsmokers, light smokers, or heavy smokers. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of cigarette smoking on high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) level and determine whether smoking causes a reduction  in this level, by using the completely randomized design (CRD) and Kruskal- Wallis method. The results showed that the assumptions of the one- way ANOVA are not satisfied, while, after transforming original data by using log transformation, they are satisfied. From the results, a significantly

Comparison of Some Methods for Estimating the Scheff'e Model of the Mixture

Because of the experience of the mixture problem of high correlation and the existence of linear MultiCollinearity between the explanatory variables, because of the constraint of the unit and the interactions between them in the model, which increases the existence of links between the explanatory variables and this is illustrated by the variance inflation vector (VIF), L-Pseudo component to reduce the bond between the components of the mixture.

To estimate the parameters of the mixture model, we used in our research the use of methods that increase bias and reduce variance, such as the Ridge Regression Method and the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) method a

Three iterative methods for solving Jeffery-Hamel flow problem

In this article, the nonlinear problem of Jeffery-Hamel flow has been solved analytically and numerically by using reliable iterative and numerical methods. The approximate solutions obtained by using the Daftardar-Jafari method namely (DJM), Temimi-Ansari method namely (TAM) and Banach contraction method namely (BCM). The obtained solutions are discussed numerically, in comparison with other numerical solutions obtained from the fourth order Runge-Kutta (RK4), Euler and previous analytic methods available in literature. In addition, the convergence of the proposed methods is given based on the Banach fixed point theorem. The results reveal that the presented methods are reliable, effective and applicable to solve other nonlinear problems.

Fractional Pantograph Delay Equations Solving by the Meshless Methods

This work describes two efficient and useful methods for solving fractional pantograph delay equations (FPDEs) with initial and boundary conditions. These two methods depend mainly on orthogonal polynomials, which are the method of the operational matrix of fractional derivative that depends on Bernstein polynomials and the operational matrix of the fractional derivative with Shifted Legendre polynomials. The basic procedure of this method is to convert the pantograph delay equation to a system of linear equations and by using, the operational matrices we get rid of the integration and differentiation operations, which makes solving the problem easier. The concept of Caputo has been used to describe fractional derivatives. Finally, some

Suitable Methods for Solving COVID-19 Model in Iraq

Because the Coronavirus epidemic spread in Iraq, the COVID-19 epidemic of people quarantined due to infection is our application in this work. The numerical simulation methods used in this research are more suitable than other analytical and numerical methods because they solve random systems. Since the Covid-19 epidemic system has random variables coefficients, these methods are used. Suitable numerical simulation methods have been applied to solve the COVID-19 epidemic model in Iraq. The analytical results of the Variation iteration method (VIM) are executed to compare the results. One numerical method which is the Finite difference method (FD) has been used to solve the Coronavirus model and for comparison purposes. The numerical simulat

Study on approximate analytical methods for nonlinear differential equations

In this work, an analytical approximation solution is presented, as well as a comparison of the Variational Iteration Adomian Decomposition Method (VIADM) and the Modified Sumudu Transform Adomian Decomposition Method (M STADM), both of which are capable of solving nonlinear partial differential equations (NPDEs) such as nonhomogeneous Kertewege-de Vries (kdv) problems and the nonlinear Klein-Gordon. The results demonstrate the solution’s dependability and excellent accuracy.
