Sequence Stratigraphy and Sedimentary Environment of the Shiranish Formation, Duhok region, Northern Iraq

The Shiranish Formation is cropped out in several areas in northern Iraq. A stratigraphic and facies study was conducted within the Duhok region to determine the sedimentary environment. Three microfacies, reflecting the various subenvironments within different shelf parts of the deep sea, have been identified within the Shiranish Formation. Four depositional environments are identified: slope, the toe of slope, deep shelf, and deep-sea or cratonic deep basin. The Shiranish Formation in the Duhok region, Northern Iraq, was deposited in an open shelf carbonate platform. The Shiranish Formation sequence is divided into six third-order cycles in the study area. These asymmetrical cycles reflect an imbalance between the relative level of the sea and the production of carbonate, and each one reflects a rise in the sea level following a period of standstill. There is a two-sequence boundary type SB-2 that defines the surface. The Shiranish sequence developed in a high-subsidence area that played the main role in the evolution of the formation. It was deposited on a carbonate platform with high subsidence due to major transgression, wherever the successive sea-level rise and stillstand episodes persist.

The Effect of Workplace Stress on Employee Engagement, the Mediation Role of Leadership Style

The aim of the current study was to investigate the impact of workplace stress on employee engagement within Iraqi universities through the mediator role of leadership style. Work-related stress and non-work-related stress were identified as representing workplace stress. Employee engagement has been measured through three types: social engagement, affective engagement, and intellectual engagement. Two types of leadership styles have been tested: directive and participative leadership. the structural equation Modeling was used to test the study model. A sample of 245 employees in Iraqi universities, including university professors, was targeted. Only 214 respondents participated in the survey. The results showed that non-work-relate

The Effects of Three Antibacterial Nanoparticle Coatings on the Surface Characteristics of Stainless Steel

The aim of this study is to investigate the antibacterial capabilities of different coating durations of three nanoparticle (NP) coatings: molybdenum (Mo), tantalum (Ta), and zinc oxide (ZnO), and their effects on the surface characteristics of 316L stainless steel (SS). The coated substrates underwent characterization utilizing field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX), and X-ray diffractometer (XRD) techniques. The antibacterial efficacy of NPs was evaluated using the agar diffusion method. The FE-SEM and EDX images confirmed the presence of nano-sized particles of Mo, Ta, and ZnO on the surface of the substrates with perfectly symmetrical spheres and a uniform distribution of

Evaluation of the Current Status of the Cost Control Processes in Iraqi Construction Projects

One of the most important problems of Iraqi construction projects is the cost variances, so it is important to identify the problems and shortcomings that cause poor cost control. Through the utilization of questionnaires, the study evaluated how project costs were managed and reported. The questionnaire was distributed to 180 professionals working in the Iraqi construction sector, with a response rate of 91%. The results showed that a high percentage of projects are implemented with a difference between real and estimated costs, and the process of documenting cost data needs to be more secure. On the other hand, there is a weakness in providing the necessary work structure information to monitor costs and a lack of proc

The Effects of Media Coverage on the Dynamics of Disease in Prey-Predator Model

In this paper, an eco-epidemiological model with media coverage effects is established and studied. An -type of disease in predator is considered.  All the properties of the solution of the proposed model are discussed. An application to the stability theory was carried out to investigate the local as well as global stability of the system. The persistence conditions of the model are determined. The occurrence of local bifurcation in the model is studied. Further investigation of the global dynamics of the model is achieved through using a numerical simulation.

News Coverage in the Iraqi Electronic Press for Internal Crises: (An Analytical Study of Al-Zaman and Al-Sabah Electronic Newspapers for the period from 1/ 3/ 2013 to 31/ 3/ 2013)

The research study focused on the need to clarify the relationship between the Websites of Iraqi Newspapers and their roles in covering the internal crises in Iraq. The selection of Iraqi websites for the newspapers Al-Zaman and Al-Sabah was adopted as one of the most important media with a wide audience; and as a model of hot news and continuous coverage of those sites since 2003 so far. As a result, this necessitated the emergence of new types of methods of editing and writing news stories related to Iraq.

Consequently, the enormous and rapidly changing amount of Iraq news, the process of preparing and creating news has become a complex industry

The Crossing as a New Approach for the Urban Transformation of Traditional Cities Towards the Sustainability

The topic of urban transformations has attracted the attention of researchers as it is one of the basic issues through which cities can be transformed towards sustainability. A specific level of transformation levels according to a philosophical concept known as a crossing. This article has relied on a specific methodology that aims to find a new approach for urban transformation based on the crossing concept. This concept derives from philosophical entrances based on the concepts of (being, process, becoming, and integration). Four levels have been for the crossing are (normal, ascending, leap, and descending). Each of these levels includes specific characteristics that distinguish it. The results showed that there is no descending
