Antibacterial activity of different part of Neem (Azadirchta indica) growing in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

Aqueous and ethanolic extracts of different parts (seeds, leaves, bark) of neem plant (Azadirachta Indica) were screened for antibacterial activaties against five species of bacteria (Staphylococcus aurous, Staphylococcus epidermises, Acinetobacter baumanni, Psedommonas aeruginosa, and Escherishia coli). Different extracts 40-80 mg/L were tested using Ager-well diffusion method. Neem parts potent demonstrated for anti-bacterial activaties against all microorganisms tested. The results showed that neem seeds aqueous and ethanolic, extract have significant effects for all tested bacteria, the maximum inhibition zone by seeds cold aqueous and cold ethanolic extracts were 22 & 13 mm for E. coli and S. epidermidis respectively; while leaves extracts were given 15 & 13 mm inhabitions zones against S. aureus and E. coli respectively. But extracts were showed inhibition zone 22 & 13 mm for S. aureus and S. epidermidis respectively. The fatty acids were determine in seeds neem, the compositions resulted in detection of eight fatty acids, the maximum dominant compound is Linoleic Acid and the minimum construction is Palmiticoleic Acid, the ethanolic extracts contained, Phenol, Alkaloids, Tannins, Glycosides, while the Steroids were absent, the results gathered from this study indicated that neem plant has anti-Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria.

Synthesis and characterization of new bidentate chalcone ligand type (NO) and its MnІІ, CoІІ, NiІІ and CuІІ complexes with study of their antibacterial activity

The aim of the work is synthesis and characterization of new bidentate chalcone ligand type (NO):[(E)-1-(3-aminophenyl)-3-(4-chlorophenyl) prop-2-en-1-one] [H2L], from the reaction of 3-amino acetophenone with 4-chloro benzaldehyde to produce the ligand [H2L], the reaction was carried out in ethanol as a solvent under stirring. Synthesis, Characterization and Study of Antibacterial Activity of a New Schiff Base Ligand and Its Complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) Metal Ions

Some coordination complexes of Co(??), Ni(??), Cu(??), Cd(??) and Hg(??) are reacted in ethanol with Schiff base ligand derived from of 2,4,6- trihydroxybenzophenone and 3-aminophenol using microwave irradiation and then reacted with metal salts in ethanol as a solvent in 1:2 ratio (metal: ligand). The ligand [H4L] is characterized by FTIR, UV-Vis, C.H.N, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR, and mass spectra. Phytochemical Investigation of the Aerial Part of Iraqi Convolvulus arvensis

 

Convolvulus arvensis is a species of bindweed that is rhizomatous and is in the morning glory family (Convolvulaceae) native to Europe and Asia. The plant is naturally grown in Iraq. The plant was reported to be used in traditional medicine from as early as 1730s.

The role of the League of Arab States in the Syrian crisis

Abstract The League of Arab States took many procedures against the Syrian political system, like suspended Syria's membership in the League of Arab States and sent a team of Arab observers headed by Dabi to discuss the situation there and issued some decisions and statements that called the Syrian regime to stop the use of violence and repression against the Syrian opposition.Through these steps, the Arab League has tried to help the Syrian parties to resolve the crisis. However, the role of the league in the Syrian crisis was characterized by weakness in general, and lack of seriousness, which contributed in the aggravation of the situation in Syria, and the intervention of major powers in the internal affairs of Syria.
