A Prototype of Obstacle Avoidance for Autonomous Vehicle
...Show More Authors

Obstacle avoidance is one of the major tasks needed to be carefully focused by the autonomous system designers. In this digital era, most industries are moving towards autonomous systems. Obstacle avoidance is considered as a primary concern for any autonomous system. In this paper, a prototype of an autonomous vehicle is presented, which is capable of obstacle avoidance using an ultrasonic sensor for its movement and avoidance. An Arduino microcontroller is used to achieve the desired operation. In order to achieve the desired task of the proposed system, a proper methodology is followed which combines appropriate selection of hardware components as well as logic design of actions for obstacle avoidance. The proposed system can easily detect an obstacle, and move accordingly towards the safe path, by first detecting and then verifying the safe path. This can be very useful if implemented in real life.  It can ultimately reduce the chances of accidents of trains and road vehicles which will save lots of lives.  It can also detect broken roads and train tracks, which may result in reducing the chances of accidents to some extent. The accuracy of the autonomous vehicle depends on the output received by the ultrasonic sensor; therefore, it is not affected by the lighting environment. The prototype has been tested in various experimental settings and achieves appropriate results.

Payment of administrative responsibility for electric power facility: a comparative study
...Show More Authors

The scope of the electrical power facility is determined by its employees' mistakes as follows and subject to its control and guidance, as well as those affiliated with mechanical machines or dangerous things that require special attention, and can be denied the responsibility based on a number of means to which the defendant is resorted to it, the law has been granted For the requirements of justice and to judge the judiciary in many of the provisions issued by an investigation into the principle of equity. The most important mistakes, which are the most important means that the electric power facility can resort to existing responsibility in accordance with Article (219) of the Iraqi Civil Law, which is responsible for fulfilling acts,

A review of ultra-high temperature materials for thermal protection system
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Ultra-High Temperature Materials (UHTMs) are at the base of entire aerospace industry; these high stable materials at temperatures exceeding 1600 °C are used to manage the heat shielding to protect vehicles and probes during the hypersonic flight through reentry trajectory against aerodynamic heating and reducing plasma surface interaction. Those materials are also recognized as Thermal Protection System Materials (TPSMs). The structural materials used during the high-temperature oxidizing environment are mainly limited to SiC, oxide ceramics, and composites. In addition to that, silicon-based ceramic has a maximum-use at 1700 °C approximately; as it is an active oxidation process o</p> ... Show More

A study of some atomic properties for He-like selected ions
...Show More Authors

The atomic properties have been studied for He-like ions (He atom, Li+, Be2+ and B3+ions). These properties included, the atomic form factor f(S), electron density at the nucleus , nuclear magnetic shielding constant and diamagnetic susceptibility ,which are very important in the study of physical properties of the atoms and ions. For these purpose two types of the wave functions applied are used, the Hartree-Fock (HF) waves function (uncorrelated) and the Configuration interaction (CI) wave function (correlated). All the results and the behaviors obtained in this work have been discussed, interpreted and compared with those previously obtained.

A Study of compression strength and flexural strength for Polymer Concrete
...Show More Authors

Polymer concrete were prepared by mixing epoxy resin with sand particles in three different grain size (150-300) , (300-600 ) and (600- 1200) μm respectively. The percentage of epoxy was 15%, 20 %, 25% and 30% wt of the total weight. Compression strength and flexural strength tests were carried out for the prepared samples.
The percentages of epoxy resin at 20% wt and 25% wt showed best mechanical properties for all grain sizes. These percentages were adopted to fill the voids between particles sand have two different size ranges (150-600) μm and {(150-300) & (600-1200)} μm respectively to obtain more dense material. The results showed that the strength of polymer composite at 20% resin is higher than 25% resin.

Effect of Genetic Algorithm as a Feature Selection for Image Classification
...Show More Authors

Analysis of image content is important in the classification of images, identification, retrieval, and recognition processes. The medical image datasets for content-based medical image retrieval (  are large datasets that are limited by high computational costs and poor performance. The aim of the proposed method is to enhance this image retrieval and classification by using a genetic algorithm (GA) to choose the reduced features and dimensionality. This process was created in three stages. In the first stage, two algorithms are applied to extract the important features; the first algorithm is the Contrast Enhancement method and the second is a Discrete Cosine Transform algorithm. In the next stage, we used datasets of the medi

A Comparative Analysis of the Zernike Moments for Single Object Retrieval
...Show More Authors

Zernike Moments has been popularly used in many shape-based image retrieval studies due to its powerful shape representation. However its strength and weaknesses have not been clearly highlighted in the previous studies. Thus, its powerful shape representation could not be fully utilized. In this paper, a method to fully capture the shape representation properties of Zernike Moments is implemented and tested on a single object for binary and grey level images. The proposed method works by determining the boundary of the shape object and then resizing the object shape to the boundary of the image. Three case studies were made. Case 1 is the Zernike Moments implementation on the original shape object image. In Case 2, the centroid of the s

Civil liability of the Bank for Deposits Received: A Comparative Study
...Show More Authors

Because bank deposits, whether cash deposits or securities deposits, entail obligations on the bank, it is natural that violating these obligations results in the realization of its civil responsibility, and responsibility in its general meaning is culpability and liability. The source of this obligation was the agreement or the law, and the work of the rules of civil liability is based on the availability of three pillars, which are the error, the damage and the causal relationship between them, and as long as the bank deposit is a contract, the responsibility of the bank in the event of a breach of one of the obligations arising from this contract is definitely a contractual responsibility, but it may be imagined The establishment of t
