Synthesis of Some New Bis- 2, 3-Dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one Derivatives from Dapsone Drug and Investigating their Liquid Crystalline Properties and Antibacterial Activities
...Show More Authors

During this paper, new Schiff's base derivatives [F1-F5] were prepared through the reaction of dapsone drug with different substituted benzaldehyde compounds. Schiff's bases were then converted into 2,3-dihyroquinazolin-4(1H)-one derivatives [F6-F10] through the reaction with 2-amino benzoic acid in ethanol. The synthesized compounds were identified by their physical properties using UV-Vis, FT-IR and 1H-NMR analyses. The liquid crystalline properties of some prepared compounds revealed smectic and nematic phases. Using two separate bacterial species, Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram -ve) and Staphylococcus  aureus (Gram +ve), the antimicrobial activities of certain synthesized compounds [F1,F2,F7,F8] were investigated using the agar diffusion process. The findings revealed that some of the assayed compounds had antimicrobial activities against the bacteria tested.

Synthesis and Characterization of a Molecularly Imprinted Polymer for Diclofenac Sodium Using (2-vinylpyridine and 2-hydroxyethyl metha acrylate) as the Complexing Monomer
...Show More Authors

Four electrodes were synthesized based on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). Two MIPs were prepared by using the diclofenac sodium (DFS) as the template, 2-hydroxy ethyl metha acrylate(2-HEMA) and 2-vinyl pyridine(2-VP) as monomers as well as divinyl benzene and benzoyl peroxide as cross linker and initiator respectively. The same composition used for prepared non-imprinted polymers (NIPs) but without the template (diclofenac sodium). To prepared the membranes electrodes used different plasticizers in PVC matrix such as: tris(2-ethyl hexyl) phosphate (TEHP), tri butyl phosphate (TBP), bis(2-ethyl hexyl) adipate (BEHA) and tritolyl phosphate (TTP). The characteristics studied the slop, detection limit, life time and linearity range of DF

Synthesis, Characterizations, and Magnetic Properties of Mixed Spinel Mg1-xZnxFe2O4 Ferrites
...Show More Authors

Mixed spinel Mg1-xZnxFe2O4 ferrites (where x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6) nanoparticles were synthesized by using microwave-assisted combustion route. As-synthesized powdered samples were checked by XRD analysis, field emission-scanning electron microscopy, and vibration sample magnetometer to investigate the structural,   morphology, and magnetic properties, respectively. XRD results exhibited that the crystallite size increases with the decrease of Zn+2 ion concentration for series of mixed spinel Mg1-xZnxFe2O4 ferrite expect x=0.2. All the mixed spinel Mg1-xZnxFe2O4 ferrite has different gr

Recycling of Chicken Egg Shells into Nanopowder: Synthesis, and its Properties
...Show More Authors

Increase in unconventional resources of calcium (Ca+2) for fowls, aquaculture and native animals was improved. This work was planned to define the most polymorph of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) that take place in the two types of chicken eggshells (local and imported type). In this research, the comparative analysis of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) content was approved for nominated eggshells of native strain and imported chicken via Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Powder X-Ray Diffraction (PXRD) analysis. The results demonstrate that native and imported chicken eggshells comprise calcite morph that ha

Synthesis and study the electrical properties of carbon nanotubes- polyvinylchloride composites
...Show More Authors

The aim of this paper, study the effect of carbon nanotubes on the electrical properties of polyvinylchloride. Samples of polyvinylchloride carbon nanotubes composite prepared by using hot press technique. The weight percentages of carbon nanotubes are 0,5,10 and 20wt.%. Results showed that the D.C electrical conductivity increases with increasing of the weight percentages of carbon nanotubes. Also, the D.C electrical conductivity changed with increase temperature for different concentrations of carbon nanotubes. The activation energy of D.C electrical conductivity is decreased with increasing of carbon nanotubes concentration.

Synthesis , characterization and electrical properties of conductive polyaniline/ functionalized MWCNT nanocomposites
...Show More Authors

by in situ polymerization of aniline monomer, conducting polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposites containing various concentrations of carboxylic acid functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (f-MWCNT) were synthesized. The morphological and electrical properties of pure PANI and PANI /MWCNT nanocomposites were examined by using Fourier transform- infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) respectively. FTIR spectra shows that the carboxylic acid groups formed at the both ends of the sidewalls of the MWCNTs. The aniline monomers were polymerized on the surface of MWCNTs, depending on the -* electron interaction between aniline monomers and MWCNTs and hydrogen bonding into interaction between t

Charge Transport At Liquid/Liquid Interface
...Show More Authors

Charge  transfer (CT) at  liquid/liquid  interfaces are described  theoretically depending on  the quantum theory .A model that derived used to calculate the rate constant  of transport at liquid/liquid  interfaces. The calculation of the rate constant of  charge  transfer depends on  the calculation of the reorganization energy, driving force ,and the coupling coefficient . Large reorganization energies  and large rate constant  for charge transfer ,indicate that the transitions involve more energy to happen . The system have large 𝐸0 (𝑒𝑉) refers that  type  of  liquid  is more reactive media than other liquid types with same d

Synthesis and Spectro-Kinetic Study of the Complexes of Pd+2 Ion with 2-(5-Bromo-2- pyridylazo)5diethylaminophenol Reagent in Ethanol – Water Solutions
...Show More Authors

The complexes of Pd+2 ion with 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-dieıhyl aminophenol (BPADAP) were studied kinetically and spectrophotometrically in aqueous ethanolic solutions. The reagent forms 1:1, 2:1 square planer and 1:1 bridged shape binuclear complexes with Pd+2 ion. All these complexes (violet colour) absorb light in the same region at 540, 575 and 618nm. The band at 618 nm seems to be specific for complexes of Pd+2ion with BPADAP.   The rate constants of the growth in 93% H2O + 7% ethanol of 1:1 and 2:1 complexes at 575 and 618 nm were followed the first order kinetics and are quite of the same values , 0.495 and 0.463 min- 1  respectively. The rate constants of the decay of 2:1 complex

Effect of pyridine and pyridine with substituent on photoluminescence of nanoparticles CdS prepared by liquid –liquid interface reaction
...Show More Authors

Liquid – liquid interface reaction is the method for
preparation nanoparticles (NP'S) which depend on the super
saturation of ions that provide by using the system that consist from
toluene and water, the first one is above the second to obtain
nanoparticles (NP's) CdS at the interface separated between these
two immiscible liquid. The structure properties were characterized by
XRD-diffraction and transmission electron microscopy.
The crystalline size estimate from X-ray diffraction pattern
using Scherer equation to be about 7nm,and by TEM analysis give us
that ananosize is about 5 nm which give a strong comparable with
Bohr radius. Photoluminescence analysis give two emission peak,
the first one around
