Transcriptomic Reanalysis Reveals Complement, Circadian, and Toll-Like Receptor Signaling Remodeling in Lactiplantibacillus plantarum-Induced Innate Immune Memory in Human Monocytes
...Show More Authors

The commensal bacterium Lactiplantibacillus plantarum is recognized for its ability to cause a state of innate immune memory in monocytes, characterized by the tolerogenic phenotype and lowered pro-inflammatory responses. This study provides an extensive re-examination of the transcriptomic dataset originating from human CD14 + monocytes primed with live or heat-killed L. plantarum (GSE159496). Using a computational approach, 1,954 differentially expressed gene calls that corresponded to 1,397 unique genes were obtained through three pairwise comparisons. In addition, several novel biological pathways that were not investigated in the original study were discovered. Priming with live L. plantarum resulted in a marked downregulation of the complement system (12.5% decrease in its module score, p < 0.001), indicating an important mechanism of immune evasion. Additionally, a significant alteration of the circadian rhythm pathway was revealed, indicating its connection to metabolic time management in sustaining long-term immune tolerance. Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling was coordinately repressed, with 17 pathway genes—including the receptors TLR2 and TLR8—significantly downregulated in live primed cells (p.adjust = 3.0 × 10–6 ). Other significantly modulated novel pathways included a downregulation of glycosylation and post-translational modifications (−13.2%, p < 0.01) and an upregulation of amino acid sensing/mTOR signaling (+11%, p < 0.001) and xenobiotic detoxification (+12%, p < 0.01). These findings point to a multi-layered adaptive response where L. plantarum not only dampens canonical inflammatory signaling but also actively remodels cellular processes related to pathogen recognition, metabolic sensing, and stress responses. This reanalysis provides a more granular model of probiotic-induced immune memory. Received: 24 June 2026 | Revised: 6 August 2026 | Accepted: 15 September 2026 Conflicts of Interest The authors declare that they have no conflicts of interest to this work. Data Availability Statement The data analyzed in this study are publicly available in the NCBI Gene Expression Omnibus under accession GSE159496: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/query/acc.cgi?acc=GSE159496. Effect of Some Demographic Changes on Some Oral Immune Aspects in Periodontal Disease Patients
...Show More Authors

Periodontal diseases (PD) are worldwide diseases of humans either in childhood or adults. The present study aimed to find the correlation between some demographic and saliva immunological factors including the determination of saliva TLR-2, IL6, CRP, and α- amylase in patients with periodontal diseases. For this purpose, 60 patients out of which 33were males and 27 were females participated in this study from different Dental treatment Centers (Amirya Specialized Dental Center and Almaamon Specialized Dental Center ) in Baghdad/ Iraq, for the period starting from November / 2021 to February / 2022. Both age ranges for patients and control are (13-70) years, and patients’ mean ages are 34.29±15.01. Additionally, the control speci

DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS AND THEIR ROLE IN ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
...Show More Authors

The study of the concepts of "democracy" and "human rights" and their impact on development, has taken a prominent place in the context of general political and cultural concerns, or in specialized studies even though researchers and scholars do not agree on defining the concepts: Democracy, Human Rights, Development or deriving a global definition hindering them, and that because of the importance of this topic, which proceeds from a number of considerations standing in the forefront, of which:

First: What the world witnesses today in the first decade of this century of consecration of the unipolar theory, trying to give its concepts and perceptions through the law ((excessive force)) to the power of international

Stopping power and range calculations of protons in human tissues
...Show More Authors

In this research, the stopping power and range of protons in biological human soft and hard tissues (blood, brain, skeleton-cortical bone, and skin) of both child and adult are calculated at the energies ranging from 1MeV to 350 MeV. The data is collected from ICRU Report 46 and calculated the stopping power employing the Bethe formula. Moreover, the simple integration (continuous slowing down approximation) method is employed for calculating protons range at the target. Then, the stopping power and range of protons value in human tissues have been compared with the program called SRIM. Moreover, the results of the stopping power vs energy and the range vs energy have been presented graphically. Proper agreement is found between the gain

Linear Increasing in Radial Electronic Density Distribution for K and L Shells throughout Some Be-Like Ions
...Show More Authors

Maximum values of one particle radial electronic density distribution has been calculated by using Hartree-Fock (HF)wave function with data published by[A. Sarsa et al. Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables 88 (2004) 163–202] for K and L shells for some Be-like ions. The Results confirm that there is a linear behavior restricted the increasing of maximum points of one particle radial electronic density distribution for K and L shells throughout some Be-like ions. This linear behavior can be described by using the nth term formula of arithmetic sequence, that can be used to calculate the maximum radial electronic density distribution for any ion within Be like ions for Z<20.

Heating and Melting Model Induced by Laser Beam in Solid Material
...Show More Authors

An analytical method and a two-dimensional finite element model for treating the problem of laser heating and melting has been applied to aluminum 2519T87and stainless steel 304. The time needed to melt and vaporize and the effects of laser power density on the melt depth for two metals are also obtained. In addition, the depth profile and time evolution of the temperature before melting and after melting are given, in which a discontinuity in the temperature gradient is obviously observed due to the latent heat of fusion and the increment in thermal conductivity in solid phase. The analytical results that induced by laser irradiation is in good agreement with numerical results.

Exposure to lead results in significant accumulation in most of vital organs, and free radical damage has been proposed as a cause of lead-induced tissue damage, where oxidative stress is a likely molecular mechanism. This study was designed to evaluate therapeutic effects of melatonin in lead-induced organ toxicity in rats. The therapeutic effects of melatonin on lead induced toxicity in rats were evaluated using 36 rats, which were allocated into 3 groups and treated as follows: Group I, includes 12 rats injected subcutaneously with 0.2 ml physiological saline for 30 days, followed by treatment with a daily dose of 20mg/kg melatonin, administrated I.P for the successive 30 da
