The inhibitive action of Phenyl Thiourea (PTU) on the corrosion of mild steel in strong Hydrochloric acid, HCl, has been investigated by weight loss and potentiostatic polarization. The effect of PTU concentration, HCl concentration, and temperature on corrosion rate of mild steel were verified using 2 levels factorial design and surface response analysis through weight loss approach, while the electrochemical measurements were used to study the behavior of mild steel in 5-7N HCl at temperatures 30, 40 and 50 °C, in absence and presence of PTU. The study includes the phytoplankton compositions in Alaaras Lake , in summer 2008 and winter , spring , summer 2009. Samples were collected from three selected sites at north , middle and south of lake. A total of 74 taxa of phytoplankton were identified . The diatoms were the dominated by 44 taxa represented 82.8% of the total indentified species, followed by green algae ( Chlorophyta ) of 20 taxa (8.5%), and blue green algae (Cyanophyta of 7 taxa (7.2%). Measuring the efficiency of postgraduate and undergraduate programs is one of the essential elements in educational process. In this study, colleges of Baghdad University and data for the academic year (2011-2012) have been chosen to measure the relative efficiencies of postgraduate and undergraduate programs in terms of their inputs and outputs. A relevant method to conduct the analysis of this data is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA).
