Computer Literacy with Skills of Seeking for Information Electronically among University Students

Computer literacy is an urgent necessity for university students, given the rapid development in the means of communication in which we live in this era, and the flow of abundant information. Mainly on the computer in all administrative and academic transactions, where first of all the registration for the semester is done through the computer. Computer culture has many characteristics and advantages that distinguish it from other sciences, includ-ing the concept of computer culture that cannot be defined absolutely, and it is difficult to define its levels, because the specifications of the computer-educated individual differ from one individual to another, and from time to time also, you find it a luxury in a country What, and you find it necessary in another country. In order to measure and know the level of computer cul-ture among university students, a computerized scale of (40) items with five multiple-choice alternatives was built. In order to know that they have the skills of searching for information electronically, a computerized scale of (21) items was prepared, and a five-point Likert scale was adopted. Results showed that they have computer literacy and therefore they have skills of searching for information electronically at all.

Gold Nanoparticles Synthesis Using Environmentally Friendly Approach for Inhibition Human Breast Cancer

In this study, gold nanoparticles were synthesized in a single step biosynthetic method using aqueous leaves extract of thymus vulgaris L. It acts as a reducing and capping agent. The characterizations of nanoparticles were carried out using UV-Visible spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FTIR. The surface plasmon resonance of the as-prepared gold nanoparticles (GNPs) showed the surface plasmon resonance centered at 550[Formula: see text]nm. The XRD pattern showed that the strong four intense peaks indicated the crystalline nature and the face centered cubic structure of the gold nanoparticles. The average crystallite size of the AuNPs was 14.93[Formula: see text]nm. Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) was used to s

A theoretical study including the breakdown voltage characteristics for some industrial gases

Industrial characteristics calculations concentrated on the physical properties for break down voltage in sf6, cf4 gases and their mixture with different concentrations are presented in our work. Calculations are achieved by using an improved modern code simulated on windows technique. Our results give rise to a compatible agreement with the other experimental published data.

Risk Factors for Mesh Related Wound Infection after Ventral Hernia Repair Surgery

Background: Mesh infection after hernia repair is a devastating complication. Preoperative prediction of high risk patients may be useful to avoid infections. This study aims at evaluating risk factors for mesh related wound infection in our setting.
Patients and methods: This prospective cohort analysis study included 120 patients underwent ventral hernioplasty with polypropylene mesh from October 2009 to February 2013 at Baghdad Teaching Hospital. Clinical data analyzed to determine risk factors of mesh related wound infection.
Results: After one year follow up for each of 120; 21 patients (17.5%) developed mesh related wound infection. Predictors of infection were: age ≥ 45 years, BMI≥35 kg/m2, diabetes mellitus, past histor

Cover crop and biofuel crop effects on hydraulic properties for claypan soils

Perennial biofuel and cover crops systems are important for enhancing soil health and can provide numerous soil, agricultural, and environmental benefits. The study objective was to investigate the effects of cover crops and biofuel crops on soil hydraulic properties relative to traditional management for claypan soils. The study site included selected management practices: cover crop (CC) and no cover crop (NC) with corn/soybean rotation, switchgrass (SW), and miscanthus (MI). The CC mixture consisted of cereal rye, hairy vetch, and Austrian winter pea. The research site was located at Bradford Research Center in Missouri, USA, and was implemented on a Mexico silt loam. Intact soil cores (76‐mm diam. by 76‐mm long) were taken from the

Leading Edge Blowing to Mimic and Enhance the Serration Effects for Aerofoil

Leading edge serration is now a well-established and effective passive control device for the reduction of turbulence–leading edge interaction noise, and for the suppression of boundary layer separation at high angle of attack. It is envisaged that leading edge blowing could produce the same mechanisms as those produced by a serrated leading edge to enhance the aeroacoustics and aerodynamic performances of aerofoil. Aeroacoustically, injection of mass airflow from the leading edge (against the incoming turbulent flow) can be an effective mechanism to decrease the turbulence intensity, and/or alter the stagnation point. According to classical theory on the aerofoil leading edge noise, there is a potential for the leading edge blowi

The Quest for an Ideal Beauty in Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye

In The Bluest Eye (1970), the American-African writer, Toni Morrison explores how
Western standards of ideal beauty are created and propagated with and among the black
community. The novel not only portrays the lives of those whose dark skinned and Negroid
features blight their lives; it also shows how the standard of white beauty, when imposed on
black youth, can drastically damage one’s self-love and esteem which usually occurs when
beauty goes unrecognized. Morrison in this novel focuses on the damage that the black
women characters suffer through the construction of femininity in a racialised society where
whiteness is used as a standard of beauty.

A New Method for Detecting Cerebral Tissues Abnormality in Magnetic Resonance Images

We propose a new method for detecting the abnormality in cerebral tissues present within Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI). Present classifier is comprised of cerebral tissue extraction, image division into angular and distance span vectors, acquirement of four features for each portion and classification to ascertain the abnormality location. The threshold value and region of interest are discerned using operator input and Otsu algorithm. Novel brain slices image division is introduced via angular and distance span vectors of sizes 24˚ with 15 pixels. Rotation invariance of the angular span vector is determined. An automatic image categorization into normal and abnormal brain tissues is performed using Support Vector Machine (SVM). St

Authorities and Procedures for Detecting Financial Violations : A Study in French Legislation

France attached great importance to public funds Article 15 of the Declaration on Human and Citizen's Rights (DDHC) stipulates that society has the right to hold any public official accountable for his or her administration. For that reason, the French legislature has established a body specialized in the control of public funds, which it calls the Court of Accounting. It has established the Court of Budget and Financial Discipline to assist it. The courts are run by judges who cannot be dismissed. The courts are also given jurisdiction, administrative jurisdiction and the role and purpose for which they have been assigned
