Evaluating public acceptance of the official medicine label and mobile verification application: a mixed-methods study applying the technology acceptance model
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Background

The Iraqi pharmaceutical sector faces significant challenges arising from the prevalence of substandard and falsified (S/F) medications, which pose a direct threat to public health safety. To strengthen regulatory oversight, health authorities have implemented national medicine track-and-trace system. However, the ultimate efficacy of these regulatory tools is heavily dependent on public awareness and the level of societal acceptance.

Objective

This study aimed to evaluate acceptance of the official medicine label among Iraqi adults who purchase medicines from private pharmacies and to examine acceptance of the Gudea mobile verification application among respondents with actual app-use experience. The study also aimed to identify key Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)-related determinants associated with the use of these verification tools to combat S/F medicines.

Methods

An exploratory mixed-methods design, guided by the TAM, was employed. Semi-structured interviews with pharmacy customers examined barriers to adoption, followed by a structured survey (Google Form) of Iraqi adult medicine purchasers conducted between November 2025 and March 2026. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically, and quantitative data were analyzed using multiple regression.

Results

The qualitative phase included 15 interviewees, and the quantitative survey involved 553 respondents. Among survey participants, 328/553 (59.3%) reported that they had previously checked the official medicine label before purchasing medicines, while 315/553 (57.0%) agreed or strongly agreed that they regularly checked it. A total of 77.6% agreed that the label enhanced their confidence in Ministry of Health (MOH) oversight, and 75.9% reported that its design and placement made it easy to notice. Seventy participants (12.7%) reported previous use of the Gudea application. Among these users, 71.4% considered the application simple and practical, 85.7% reported that they would be more inclined to use it if recommended by pharmacists, and 74.3% intended to continue using it. In the official medicine label regression ( N  = 553), perceived usefulness, subjective norm, age, and education level were significantly associated with regular label checking. In the exploratory Gudea application regression ( n  = 70), age was the only statistically significant predictor (β = 0.225, p  = 0.026).

Conclusion

Among surveyed participants, the official medicine label was more frequently used than the Gudea application. The findings support the potential value of combining visible physical verification with optional digital verification, while highlighting possible areas for improvement in public awareness, technical performance, and pharmacist-supported engagement. Given the cross-sectional convenience sample and the relatively small app-user subgroup, these findings should be interpreted cautiously and confirmed in larger, more representative studies.

The Position of the Oil Press about the World Oil Industry / OAPEC Bulletin 2011-2012 as a Model
...Show More Authors

This research deals with the attitude of oil press towards oil industry in the world and the extent of their concerns with the stages of oil industry relating to the abundance of oil and natural gas, as it is an international strategic and complementary industry. The researcher uses the survey method for content analysis of the initial article and the press news for two: years (2011-2012). The results if the study are as follows
1- Oil press is concerned with developing and the stages of the Arabic oil industry in the interest of OAPEC in the first place.
2- It is concerned with exploring, extracting, and marketing oil in the first place, then with refining operations in refineries and petrochemical plants in the second place, an

The rights of orphans in the Old Testament and Islam, a Comparative Study
...Show More Authors

Allah Almighty has aggrandized the position of orphans and elevated their status in the society and has given the graces for those who sponsor the orphan and care for and protecting them, even those who rub their heads. The divine care is manifested in the verses of the Holy Bible and the Holy Quran. Therefore, the whole world cared for the orphan, and called for the rights of the orphans in the conferences and the channels. But all that was little effort that does not meet what the orphan need and some were only ink on paper that were not applied. All that mentioned above is necessary in dealing with the study (the rights of orphans in the Old Testament and Islam, a Comparative Study). The study was divided into a Preface and four inquirie

Parametric Study of Mixed Convective Radiative Heat Transfer in an Inclined Annulus
...Show More Authors

The steady state laminar mixed convection and radiation through inclined rectangular duct with an interior circular tube is investigated numerically for a thermally and hydrodynamicaly fully developed flow. The two heat transfer mechanisms of convection and radiation are treated independently and simultaneously. The governing equations which used are continuity, momentum and energy equations. These equations are normalized and solved using the Vorticity-Stream function and the Body Fitted Coordinates (B.F.C) methods. The finite difference approach with the Line Successive Over-Relaxation (LSOR) method is used to obtain all the computational results. The (B.F.C) method is used to generate the grid of the problem. Humanizing Legal Rules (The Winter Truce in France as a Model)
...Show More Authors

Since the law is the tool for implementing the state’s public policies, it is natural that its provisions (or at least some of them) seek to preserve human dignity as the source on which all rights and freedoms are based. One of the examples of humanizing the provisions of the law in France is what is known as the winter truce. What is this truce, what are the justifications for granting it, what is its historical origin, how did the legislative treatment of it develop, what are the similarities and differences between it and other legal periods included in French law, what is the scope of its application, and what are the effects resulting from it. These questions and others are what we will try to answer through this research.

A modified ARIMA model for forecasting chemical sales in the USA

Abstract<p>model is derived, and the methodology is given in detail. The model is constructed depending on some measurement criteria, Akaike and Bayesian information criterion. For the new time series model, a new algorithm has been generated. The forecasting process, one and two steps ahead, is discussed in detail. Some exploratory data analysis is given in the beginning. The best model is selected based on some criteria; it is compared with some naïve models. The modified model is applied to a monthly chemical sales dataset (January 1992 to Dec 2019), where the dataset in this work has been downloaded from the United States of America census (www.census.gov). Ultimately, the forecasted sales </p> ... Show More
