An Efficient Shrinkage Estimators For Generalized Inverse Rayleigh Distribution Based On Bounded And Series Stress-Strength Models
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>In this paper, we investigate two stress-strength models (Bounded and Series) in systems reliability based on Generalized Inverse Rayleigh distribution. To obtain some estimates of shrinkage estimators, Bayesian methods under informative and non-informative assumptions are used. For comparison of the presented methods, Monte Carlo simulations based on the Mean squared Error criteria are applied.</p>

An efficient multistage CBIR based on Squared Krawtchouk-Tchebichef polynomials
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Image databases are increasing exponentially because of rapid developments in social networking and digital technologies. To search these databases, an efficient search technique is required. CBIR is considered one of these techniques. This paper presents a multistage CBIR to address the computational cost issues while reasonably preserving accuracy. In the presented work, the first stage acts as a filter that passes images to the next stage based on SKTP, which is the first time used in the CBIR domain. While in the second stage, LBP and Canny edge detectors are employed for extracting texture and shape features from the query image and images in the newly constructed database. The p</p> ... Estimate for Survival and Related Functions of Weighted Rayleigh Distribution.
...Show More Authors

In this paper, we introduce a new class of Weighted Rayleigh Distribution based on two parameters, one is the scale parameter and the other is the shape parameter introduced in Rayleigh distribution. The main properties of this class are derived and investigated . The moment method and least square method are used to obtain estimators of parameters of this distribution. The probability density function,   survival function, cumulative distribution and hazard function are derived and found. Real data sets are collected to investigate two methods that depend on in this study. A comparison is made between two methods of estimation and clarifies that MLE method is better than the OLS method by using the mea

A Class of Exponential Rayleigh Distribution and New Modified Weighted Exponential Rayleigh Distribution with Statistical Properties
...Show More Authors

This paper deals with the mathematical method for extracting the Exponential Rayleighh  distribution based on mixed between the cumulative distribution function of Exponential distribution and  the cumulative distribution function of Rayleigh distribution using an application (maximum), as well as derived different statistical properties for  distribution, and present a structure of a new distribution based on a modified weighted version of Azzalini’s (1985) named Modified Weighted Exponential Rayleigh  distribution such that this new distribution is generalization of the  distribution and provide some special models of the  distribution, as well as derived different statistical properties for  distribution

On Significance Testimator in Pareto Distribution Via Shrinkage Technique
...Show More Authors

In this paper, preliminary test Shrinkage estimator have been considered for estimating the shape parameter α of pareto distribution when the scale parameter equal to the smallest loss and when a prior estimate α0 of α is available as initial value from the past experiences or from quaintance cases. The proposed estimator is shown to have a smaller mean squared error in a region around α0 when comparison with usual and existing estimators.

On Double Stage Shrinkage-Bayesian Estimator for the Scale Parameter of Exponential Distribution
...Show More Authors

This paper is concerned with Double Stage Shrinkage Bayesian (DSSB) Estimator for lowering the mean squared error of classical estimator ˆ q for the scale parameter (q) of an exponential distribution in a region (R) around available prior knowledge (q0) about the actual value (q) as initial estimate as well as to reduce the cost of experimentations.         In situation where the experimentations are time consuming or very costly, a Double Stage procedure can be used to reduce the expected sample size needed to obtain the estimator. This estimator is shown to have smaller mean squared error for certain choice of the shrinkage weight factor y( ) and for acceptance region R. Expression for

On Shrinkage Estimation for R(s, k) in Case of Exponentiated Pareto Distribution
...Show More Authors

This paper concerns with deriving and estimating the reliability of the multicomponent system in stress-strength model R(s,k), when the stress and strength are identical independent distribution (iid), follows two parameters Exponentiated Pareto Distribution(EPD) with the unknown shape and known scale parameters. Shrinkage estimation method including Maximum likelihood estimator (MLE), has been considered. Comparisons among the proposed estimators were made depending on simulation based on mean squared error (MSE) criteria.

This paper concerned with estimation reliability ( for K components parallel system of the stress-strength model with non-identical components which is subjected to a common stress, when the stress and strength follow the Generalized Exponential Distribution (GED) with unknown shape parameter α and the known scale parameter θ (θ=1) to be common. Different shrinkage estimation methods will be considered to estimate  depending on maximum likelihood estimator and prior estimates based on simulation using mean squared error (MSE) criteria. The study approved that the shrinkage estimation using shrinkage weight function was the best.

Convergence prop erties of Jackson polynomials have been considered by Zugmund

On New Weibull Inverse Lomax Distribution with Applications
...Show More Authors

In this paper, simulation studies and applications of the New Weibull-Inverse Lomax (NWIL) distribution were presented. In the simulation studies, different sample sizes ranging from 30, 50, 100, 200, 300, to 500 were considered. Also, 1,000 replications were considered for the experiment. NWIL is a fat tail distribution. Higher moments are not easily derived except with some approximations. However, the estimates have higher precisions with low variances. Finally, the usefulness of the NWIL distribution was illustrated by fitting two data  sets
