Personalism emerged in a historical era in which the world, Europe and France were witnessing the end of a civilizational era that extended from the end of the Middle Ages until the beginning of the twentieth century, characterized by being capitalist in structure, liberal in method and bourgeois in values. Personalism came not only as an attempt to respond to a new era witnessing the birth of a new civilization whose features are still vague, but also as a response to the materialistic and existentialist Marxist school, which defined its ultimate goal as remaking the (Renaissance). Personalism originated with the French thinker (Charles Renouvier) in the late nineteenth century, but it did not witness its true revolution until the French philosopher (Emmanuel Mounier) who developed this idea and gave it a personal character that is consistent with lived reality and proceeds from it.
Deception is an inseparable facet of political discourse in attaining strategic political gains though compromising public opinion. However, the employment of discursive deception strategies by the policy-making institutions of think tanks has not received due attention in the literature. This study aims to investigate the types of impoliteness strategies used in Putin's speech at the annexation ceremony. All of Putin's speeches were intentionally delivered to cause damage to the hearers' negative and positive faces. Culpeper's (2011) classifications of impoliteness, which consist of five strategies that are the opposite of politeness, were adopted. The data were collected from the President of Russia, providing a rich source for analysis. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were employed to achieve the study objectives.
