Summary

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy-University of Baghdad in 2001 and worked at Ibn Al-Haitham Teaching Eye Hospital as a pharmacist. Then I worked at the University of Baghdad, College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, as a teaching assistant in 2002. After completing my master's degree in 2009, I joined the teaching faculty of the pharmacology and toxicology department and worked for years in the physiology, pharmacology, and toxicology labs. Then, after completing my PhD in 2020 at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, I was given the responsibility of teaching undergraduate students pharmacology, clinical toxicology, and general toxicology courses. I also had to supervise fifth-year students as they completed their graduation projects and higher diploma and master students.

Qualifications

 B.Sc. Pharmacy (2001), College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad  M.Sc. Pharmacology and Toxicology (2009), College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad  Ph.D. Pharmacology and Toxicology (2020), College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad

Responsibility

 Member, Iraqi Pharmacist Syndicate  Member of Pharmacology and Toxicology Department, College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad  Member, Plagiarism Checking Committee.

Research Interests

My research interest concerns various medications (including chemotherapeutics and antibiotics); their activity, mechanisms of action, adverse effects and toxicity; and the use of different herbal extract to counteract the toxicity produced by medications in comparison with a known protectants, via the utilization of in vivo study (in animals, rats) and by the utilization of different analytical methods (by ELISA, IHC and histopathological study).

Possible Effects of Vitamin D3 and Levofloxacin on Selected Hematology Parameter of Rats

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant and DNA protecting properties , Levofloxacin is a member of the fluoroquinolone drug class, Its broad-spectrum bactericidal effect affects both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

The goal of the study is to analyze the haematology analysis in rats received levofloxacin and show the preventive impact of vitamin D3 by analyzing the haematology parameters: packed cell volume (PCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration(MCHC),haemoglobin (HB), red blood cell (RBC), mean corpuscular volume (MCV),meancorpuscular haemoglobin(MCH), WBC ,differential WBC, and Platelets.

The study included 42 rats divided into 6 groups each group 7 rats. group I negative control

Study of Iraqi Spinach Leaves (Phytochemical and Protective Effects Against methotrexate-Induced hepatotoxicity in rats)

Spinach, Spinacia oleracea L is a popular vegetable belonging to the family Chenopodiaceae. This study was concerned with extraction of compounds in Iraqi spinach leaves, preliminary phytochemical evaluation, identification of two biological important flavonols, quercetin and kaempferol in spinach leaves and evaluation of the protective effect of aqueous spinach extract on methotrexate (MTX) induced hepatotoxicity in rats. The percentage yield of extraction procedure, identification of spinach by chemical tests and identification of flavonols by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were fully described in this study. The results indicate that the percentage of quarce

Effects of Vitamin D3 on Methotrexate- Induced Jejunum Damage in Rats

Both methotrexate and vitamin D3 are used in combination for the treatment of various diseases. The aim of this study is to highlight the effect of vitamin D3 on methotrexate-induced jejunum damage using biochemical and   histopathological  studies. Seven groups of both sexes of rats were selected and treated as follows: (Group I and Group II) : control 1,control 2 (I.P normal saline) daily for 14 and 21 days respectively ; (Group III and Group IV) :vitamin D3 groups (500 IU/rat/day) orally for 14 and 21 days, respectively;(Group V): once daily dose of methotrexate 20mg/kg, I.P injected for 4 days;(Group VI):vitamin D3 (500 IU/rat/day) once daily for 14 days and methotrexate (20 mg/kg I.P) injected only at day 10;.(Group

The influence of different concentrations of aqueous green tea extract on methotrexate induced haematological toxicity in rats

Methotrexate (MTX), a folic acid antagonist is widely used for the treatment of a variety of tumors. In the present study, the possible protective effect of aqueous green tea extract (AGTE) in methotrexate-induced haematotoxicity was investigated.Four main groups of white Albino rats were used: control group, (MTX) group, following a single dose of MTX (20 mg/kg, i.p.) saline was administered for 5 days. (AGTE) group, was treated with 1.25% concentration of AGTE only for 12 days and the (MTX+AGTE) group, in thism group rats received different concentrations of AGTE (0.625, 1.25 and 2.5%), as their sole source of drinking water, 7days before and 5 days after MTX treatment. MTX induced significant decreases in RBC, Hb, Hct, WBC and pl
