This research is an attempt to solve the ambiguity associated with the stratigraphic setting of the main reservoir (late Cretaceous) of Mishrif Formation in Dujaila oil field. This was achieved by studying a 3D seismic reflection post-stack data for an area of 602.62 Km2 in Maysan Governorate, southeast of Iraq. Seismic analysis of the true amplitude reflections, time maps, and 3D depositional models showed a sufficient seismic evidence that the Mishrif Formation produces oil from a stratigraphic trap of isolated reef carbonate buildups that were grown on the shelf edge of the carbonate platform, located in the area around the productive well Dujaila-1. The low-frequency attribute illustrated tha

The image is partitioned into blocks of a size of NxN (where N is multiple of 2), each block is categorized whether it is high frequency (uncorrelated block) or low frequency (correlated block) according to its spatial details, this done by calculating the energy of block by taking the absolute sum of differential pulse code modulation (DPCM) differences between pixels to determine the level of correlation by using a specified threshold value. The image blocks will be scanned and converted into 1D vectors using horizontal scan order. Then, 1D-DCT is applied for each vector to produce transform coefficients. The transformed coefficients will be qua

Therefore, in this paper, after designing a small binary codebook, we adopted a new method by rotating each binary code word in this codebook into 900 to 2700 step 900 directions. Then, we systematized each code word depending on its angle to involve four types of binary code books (i.e. Pour when , Flat when , Vertical when, or Zigzag). The proposed scheme was used for decreasing the time of the coding pro

As traditional techniques would fail to reach satisfactory solutions for the parameter estimation problem. Hence, in this paper, the BAT algorithm to estimate the parameters of Nonlinear Regression models is used . The simulation study is considered to investigate the performance of the proposed algorithm with the maximum likelihood (MLE) and Least square (LS) methods. The results show that the Bat algorithm provides accurate estimation and it is satisfactory for the parameter estimation of the nonlinear regression models than MLE and LS methods depend on Mean Square error.

Capacitive–resistive humidity sensors based on polythiophene (P3HT) organic semiconductor as an active material hybrid with three types of metallic nanoparticles (NP) (Ag, Al, and Cu) were synthesized by pulsed laser ablation (PLA). The hybrid P3HT/metallic nanoparticles were deposited on indium-tin-oxide (ITO) substrate at room temperature. The surface morphology of theses samples was studied by using field emission scanning electron micrographs (FE-SEM), which indicated the formation of nanoparticles with grain size of about 50nm. The electrical characteristics of the sensors were examined as a function of the relative humidity levels. The sensors showed an increase in the capacitance with variation in the humidity level. This research investigated the effectiveness of using different thickness values of polyimide (PI) interfacial layer in order to improve electrical and thermal properties of Al/ PI /c-Si capacitor. The PI spectra produced by poly(amic acid) (PAA) were characterized by using FT-IR analysis. After imidization of PAA, some absorption peaks vanished, whereas PI peaks appeared, due to the complete conversion of PAA to PI.
The results show that thermal decomposition resistance of polyimide films increases with the increase of polyimide thickness, because of the increase of the imide bond and the decrease of the average distance between amide groups.
This paper aims to calculate the petrophysical properties in the Al-Ahdab field in the middle of Iraq within the Mauddud Formation. This study was based on the information available from well logs. The interactive petrophysical software IP (V4.5) was used to calculate the porosity, hydrocarbon saturation and shale volume, divide the formation into reservoir units and buffer units, and evaluate these units in each well. The Mauddud was divided into five units, two of them were considered good reservoirs having good petrophysical properties (high porosity, Low water saturation, and low shale volume). The other three are not reservoirs because of poor petrophysical properties.

The use of varied quantities of orphenadrine to protect stainless steel against corrosion in an acidic media at 298 K has been investigated. It was observed that when the drug's concentration is increased, the drug's speed of corrosion lowers. The data of inhibition efficiency (percent IE) in the presence of orphenadrine drug and corrosion resistance showed that the highest protection efficiency was achieved with the best concentration, and that the corrosion rate decreased with increasing orphenadrine drug concentrations, making it a good inhibitor for stainless steel in an acidic environment. The theoretical investigation proved the efficiency of the drug for inhibition, as the drug is absorbed on the surface of the stainless st
