Effect of Organic and Non Organic Acids on the Blend PES/PS/PVDF Polymer Membranes Efficiency for Microbial Fuel Cell
...Show More Authors

In this work proton exchange membranes were prepared by a modified microwave casting solution technique, using the polymers blend (polyethersulfone (PES), polystyrene (PS), polyvinylidenefluride (PVDF)). Modified casting method was used to overcome the poor compatibility between hydrophilic, (PES, PS) and hydrophobic PVDF, by cooling the substrate during the film casting process to (4.5-5.5oC). Membranes were chemically modified by three reaction types to study the differences between their effects on the required properties for microbial fuel cell application. These methods use blend organic sulfonic acid precasting process and sulfonation by sulfuric acid post-casting process (APS), blending organic

The Intersection Graph of Subgroups of the Dihedral Group of Order 2pq
...Show More Authors

For a finite group G, the intersection graph   of G is the graph whose vertex set is the set of all proper non-trivial subgroups of G, where two distinct vertices are adjacent if their intersection is a non-trivial subgroup of G. In this article, we investigate the detour index, eccentric connectivity, and total eccentricity polynomials of the intersection graph  of subgroups of the dihedral group  for distinct primes . We also find the mean distance of the graph  .

Eight food materials were used. They affected differently the biology of this
beetle. Females laid highest number of eggs when fed on raw wool (٤٥ eggs), then
on goats hair (٤٠.٤ eggs) lowest number of eggs (١٧.٢) when fed on natural silk, and
(١٨ eggs) on sheep hide.
Larval duration was shortest on raw wool (٧٨.٤ days), then goats hair (٨٤.٨ days)
and camels hair (٩١.٨ days). It was largest on human hair (١٧٦ days) and natural silk
(١٧٣ days). Larval mortality was lowest on goat’s hair (١%) then on raw wool (٤%)

The Local Bifurcation of an Eco-Epidemiological Model in the Presence of Stage- Structured with Refuge

In this paper, we establish the conditions of the occurrence of the local bifurcations, such as saddle node, transcritical and pitchfork, of all equilibrium points of an eco-epidemiological model consisting of a prey-predator model with SI (susceptible-infected) epidemic diseases in prey population only and a refuge-stage structure in the predators. It is observed that there is a transcritical bifurcation near the axial and free predator equilibrium points, near disease-free equilibrium point is a saddle-node bifurcation and near positive (coexistence) equilibrium point is a saddle-node bifurcation, a transcritical bifurcation and a pitchfork bifurcation. Further investigations for Hopf bifurcation near coexistence equilibrium point are

SYNTHESIS AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF SOME BARBITURIC ACID DERIVATIVES VIA SCHIFF΄ S BASES
...Show More Authors

The present work includes the synthesis of different Schiff bases by the reaction of aniline with benzaldehyde and its derivatives. These Schiff bases reacted with phenoxy acid chloride to yield acetanilide derivatives. The synthesis of barbituric acid derivatives has been performed by the reaction of phenoxyacetanilide derivatives with guanidine carbonate and diethyl malonate (DEM) derivatives. Elemental analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy were used to characterize the prepared compounds.
The antibacterial activity of the products were studied in vitro using disc diffusion method against two pathogenic strains of bacteria (Pseudomonas aeuroginosa and Staphylococcus aureus) and showed high activity against both types.

THE MASS TRANSFER IN UNSTABLE COMPACT BINARY STARS
...Show More Authors

The 2001 outburst of WZ Sagittae has shown the most compelling evidence yet for an enhancement of the mass transfer rate from the donor star during a dwarf nova outburst in the form of hot-spot brightening. It has been shown that even in this extreme case, the brightening can be attributed to tidal heating near the interaction point of an accretion stream with the expanding edge of an eccentric accretion disc, with no need at all for an increase in the mass transfer rate. Furthermore, it has been confirmed previous suggestions that an increase in mass transfer rate through the stream damps any eccentricity in an accretion disc and suppresses the appearance of super-humps, in contradiction to observations. Tidal heating is expected to be

THE SPIN-DOWN TORQUE DECAY WITH THE CHARACTERISTIC AGE FOR BINARY MILLISECOND PULSARS (MSPS) STARS

Millisecond pulsars (MSPs) type have properties differs from normal pulsars type. In this research the characteristic age are concentrated depends on the periods (P), and period derivative (P`) for a sample stars which adopted. Also the value of characteristic age for these stars is determined by depending on the (Ostriker and Gunn) model. The relation between luminosity and the characteristic age for a sample of MSPs stars are illustrated depending on pulse periods for these stars. The results indicate that the spin down torque must decay with the characteristic age for a sample stars which adopted. Also the results for these stars at distance 1.5 kpc from the galactic disk illustrated that the decay must due to the main energy loss mec

On Estimating Reliability of a Stress – Strength Model in Case of Rayleigh Pareto Distribution
...Show More Authors

The stress – strength model is one of the models that are used to compute reliability. In this paper, we derived mathematical formulas for the reliability of the stress – strength model that follows Rayleigh Pareto (Rayl. – Par) distribution. Here, the model has a single component, where strength Y is subjected to a stress X, represented by moment, reliability function, restricted behavior, and ordering statistics. Some estimation methods were used, which are the maximum likelihood, ordinary least squares, and two shrinkage methods, in addition to a newly suggested method for weighting the contraction. The performance of these estimates was studied empirically by using simulation experimentation that could give more varieties for d

This study is based on USGS (United States Geological Survey) data by the SSEBop (Simplified Surface Energy Balance) model to estimate the total annual amount of ET using ArcGIS software. The ET values were determined for seventeen years from 2003 to 2019. Also, these values for year 2020 were estimated based on the value of the monthly ET for seven months, i.e. until August by summation. Dust storm in Erbil city as a result of climatic change in Kurdistan Region Iraq

Dust storm data from 1992 to 2009 and data of main climatic parameters rainfall (1942 to 2010) and air temperature (1992 to 2009) of Erbil Meteorological Station were analysed. Results show an increase of the number of suspended and rising dust as well as dust storms with time. An average of the above mentioned period of all types of dust storms is individually compared with the last five years. Again, there is a noticeable increasing of the number of storms. From the results it can be seen that the months May, June, July and August have the most frequent dust conditions while months January, February, November and December the least.
