This study was conducted from January to October 2014, the samples were
collected monthly from four stations in AL-Diwaniya River at AL-Diwaniya city.
Phytoplankton species which are diagnosed during study period are (506) and the
numbers of common types in four sites are (61). Bacillariophyceae is dominate on
other classes and Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Dinophyceae then Chrysophyceae

    Ziziphora persica Bunge is recorded as a new Study in Iraq. This species has been collected from Jabal Sinjar in Nineveh province in the north western part of Iraq. In this study, different oil fields in Mesopotamian basin, southern Iraq (Siba, Zubair, Nahr - Umr, Majnoon, Halfaya, Kumait, and Amara) were selected for studying burial history. PetroMod software 1D was used for basin constructing and to evaluate burial history of the basin. Results showed that in the upper Jurassic to the Recent, Mesopotamian Basin exhibited a complex subsidence history over a period of about 152 Ma.There are different periods of subsidence: high, moderate, and slow.
