The Efficacy and Safety Of Using Hydrochlorothiazide As Adjuvant Therapy In Pediatric Urinary Tract Infections

Background: Acute urinary tract infection is a common bacterial infection causing illness in infants and children. At age of seven, 8% of girls and 2% of boys will have at least one episode. Although drinking water and using home remedies are known to help to flush away bacteria and keeps them from sticking to the bladder wall, researches to test the efficacy and safety of hydrochlorothiazide's diuretic effect as adjuvant to the antibiotics in pediatric age groups are lacking, and so this research was to address this subject.

Objectives: To assess the effectiveness   and  the safety of hydrochlorothiazide as adjuvant therapy to the antibiotics in treating acute urinary tract infect

Salivary aspartate amino transferase and alanine amino transferase of non-insulin-dependents (Type2) diabetic patients.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a world-wide chronic metabolic disorder affects relatively high percentage of population. A few information is available in diabetes on the salivary content of enzymes GOT (AST) and GPT (ALT).
Patients and methods: we studied 19 patients (NIDDM, type 2 diabetes mellitus aged 29-67 year). Colorimetric determination of salivary GPT and GOT activity was used.
Results: In the whole saliva of non-insulin-dependent (NIDDM, n=19) diabetic patients and from agecross- matched healthy subjects (n=19). Saliva concentrations of GOT (43.92=12.8U/L) in NIDDM patients were higherly significant (P< 0.001) than those observed in normal subjects (23.0± 8.84 U/L). GPT was higher

Studying the Probability of Using Groundwater in Baghdad City for Human, Animal, and Irrigation Use

Groundwater is an important source of fresh water especially in countries having a decrease in or no surface water; therefore itis essential to assess the quality of groundwater and find the possibility of its use in different purposes (domestic; agricultural; animal; and other purposes). In this paper samples from 66 wells lying in different places in Baghdad city were used to determine 13 water parameters, to find the quality of groundwater and evaluate the possibility of using it for human, animal and irrigation by calculating WQI, SAR, RSC and Na% and TDS indicators. WQI results showed that the groundwater in all wells are not qualified for human use, while SAR and RSC indicated that most samples are suitable for irrigation use, and

Investigation of Sn(IV) and Sn(II) by dianionicligand compounds Supported by Nitrogen-Based Ligands

Synthetic routes to a series of tin compounds incorporating nitrogen-based
chelating ligands are described. The β-diketiminato tin chloride precursor was
utilized to isolate the first tin-phosphorus tin compound using this ligand,
[(HC{C(Me)NAr}2)SnPPh2]. A diamide ligand was employed to investigate tin (II)
and (IV) compounds. Two tin (II) and (IV) compounds, [(Me2Si{ArN}2)SnPh2] and
[Li(OEt)2](Me2Si{ArN}2)SnPh2], were formed via reaction of the lithiated
preligand, [Me2Si{ArNLi}2]+Sn(IV). Finally a novel Sn(II) N-heterocyclic
stannylene compound was formed by reaction of the preligand with SnCl4.
The diamide ligand was found to be suitable for both Sn(IV) and Sn(II)
compounds. Reaction to obtain the tin dich

Electrical properties of pure NiO and NiO:Au thin films prepared by using pulsed laser deposition

The electrical properties of pure NiO and NiO:Au Films which are
deposited on glass substrate with various dopant concentrations
(1wt.%, 2wt%, 3wt.% and 4wt.%) at room temperature 450 Co
annealing temperature will be presented. The results of the hall effect
showed that all the films were p-type. The Hall mobility decreases
while both carrier concentration and conductivity increases with the
increasing of annealing temperatures and doping percentage, Thus,
indicating the behavior of semiconductor, and also the D.C
conductivity from which the activation energy decrease with the
doping concentration increase and transport mechanism of the charge
carriers can be estimated.

The Legal System of the Social Health Insurance in Egypt and its Impact on Iraq

Iraq issued the social Health Insurance Law No. 2 in 2020, thus taking its first step to introduce the universal health coverage. When the previous law was enacted, it was inspired by a number of countries, including the Arab Republic of Egypt, which began implementing the health insurance system since 2018, calling it universal health insurance and issued its law No. 2 of 2018, which was entitled as "The universal Health Insurance Law of the Arab Republic of Egypt". A national project at the all state level, such as the health insurance project, needs a set of equipment, both in terms of preparing the infrastructure or in terms of cooperation with health institutions in the public and private sectors, and both in terms of automating and

A Study Medicinal and Nutritional Effects of Thyme on Hematological Changes in Male Albino Rats

The increase in the use of thyme in Iraq and neighboring countries, which may
be result in serious side effects necessitate the demand for testing different
concentrations of thyme extract (500,750,1000) mg/kg of body weight on rats to be
given either by injection or feeding grinded dried thyme leaves added to pellets
(50,100,150) g /kg of pellet in of different periods , (10,20,30) days for injection
and feeding 2 times weekly. Thyme extracts leaves effects on RBCs, WBCs and
Differential WBCs counts were measured. statistical analysis showed significance

The Approximate Solution of Newell Whitehead Segel and Fisher Equations Using The Adomian Decomposition Method

In the present work, we use the Adomian Decomposition method to find the approximate solution for some cases of the Newell whitehead segel nonlinear differential equation which was solved previously with exact solution by the Homotopy perturbation and the Iteration methods, then we compared the results.

Viscosity and Density of Chrom Alum in Aqueous Poly (Ethylene Glycol) Solution at Different Temperature

Density data of  alum chrom in water and in aqueous solution of poly (ethylene glycol) (1500) at different temperatures (288.15, 293.15, 298.15) k have been used to estimate the apparent molar volume (Vθ), limiting apparent molar volume (Vθ˚) experimental slope (Sv) and the second derivative of limiting partial molar volume [δ2 θ v° /δ T2] p .The viscosity data have been analyzed by means of Jones –Dole equation to obtain coefficient A, and  Jones – Dole coefficient B, Free activation  energy of activation per mole of solvent, Δμ10* solute, Δμ20* the activation enthalpy ΔH*,and entropy, ΔS*of activation of viscous flow. These results have been discussed

Oral manifestation biochemical and IgA analysis of saliva in hyperthyroid (Grave’s disease) patients(Comparative study)

Background: Hyperthyroidism occurs due to over production of thyroid hormones, one types of hyperthyroidism was Graves, disease. Hyperthyroidism is characterized by high level of serum thyroxin, triiodothyronine and low level of thyroid stimulated hormones. Material and Methods: fifty two hyperthyroid patients, thirty patients under treatment with carbimazole and other twenty two patients under treatment with radioactive iodine, and sixty healthy control group. The average salivary flow rate was calculated as ml/5mint.The concentration of calcium, potassium, and total protein were determined in the salivary supernatant sample. This is done through different biochemical tests. Determination of salivary IgA is done by ELIZA. Results: The most
