Background/Aim: Capsicum annuum Grossum Senise, a widely cultivated sweet pepper in Iraq contains a diverse array of bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, carotenoids and capsinoids, known for their beneficial effects on health. The study aimed to employ advanced analytical techniques to elucidate the compound's chemical properties and concentration within this specific Capsicum cultivar, contributing to the growing body of knowledge regarding plant-derived sterols with potential nutraceutical application. Methods: This study focused on the extraction, isolation, purification and quantitative analysis of b-sitosterol from Iraqi Capsicum annuum Grossum. Advanced chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques were employed to ensure accurate quantification and structural characterisation. Results: The chloroform fraction exhibited a high b-sitosterol concentration (0.492 mg/mL dry weight), suggesting efficient biosynthesis of this secondary metabolite, possibly due to favourable biochemical and environmental factors. Conclusion: The findings underscore the potential of Iraqi-grown Capsicum annuum Grossum as a valuable source of b-sitosterol, supporting its use in nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications. Further research is warranted to explore its mechanistic pathways and therapeutic efficacy in clinical settings.
This study detects the presence of an important flavonoid "Casticin" in the fruits of Vitex agnus-castus L. grown in Iraq. The pharmaceutical importance of Casticin arise from its consideration as anti-tumor substance and have cytotoxic effects, and the absence of any study concerning Casticin content of this medicinal plant in Iraq, gave this study its importance. This study concerned with the extraction, identification, isolation and purification of Casticin from the fruits of Vitex agnus-castus L. The extraction of this compound was carried out using two methods. Identification of this compound was done by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) in which three different solvent system has been tried. Materials and Methods: 100 persons (50malesand 50 females had class I normal dental and skeletal selected for this study.Clinical examination and digital photograph with posed smile were performed for each individual. Six linear soft tissue parameters in each photograph using AutoCAD program 2011. Five visual and four quantitative evaluations of the smile were studied for eachsubject. The smile arch and index, buccal corridor spaces (BCSs) were studied.Descriptive statistics of the measurements were calculated. Independent student’s ttestswere used to evaluate the gender differences. Statistics: Desc

Global collaboration among OSM contributors presents challenges to data quality and uniformity, exacerbated by the sheer volume of input and indistinct data annotation protocols. This study presents a methodological improvement in the spatial accuracy of OSM datasets centred over Baghdad, Iraq, utilising data derived from OSM services and satellite imagery. An analytical focus was placed on two geometric correction methods: a two-dimensional polynomial affine transformation and a two-dimensional polynomial conformal transformation. The former involves twelve coefficients for ad

The study has been tested in Iraq's mobile operators - Asia Cell, Zain Iraq and Cork Telecom. The study was applied to a sample of (93) managers distributed at various levels of management (board members, general managers, commissioners, department managers, people managers, unit managers, office managers). The survey used the questionnaire as a key tool for collecting data and information as well as personal interviews. It has sought to test a number of hypotheses related to correlation and influence relationships between the variables of the study, in order to answer the questions related to the problem of stud

This study was concerned with extraction of compounds in Iraqi spinach leaves, preliminary phytochemical evaluation, identification of two biological important flavonols, quercetin and kaempferol in spinach leaves and evaluation of the protective effect of aqueous spinach extract on methotrexate (MTX) induced hepatotoxicity in rats. The percentage yield of extraction procedure, identification of spinach by chemical tests and identification of flavonols by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were fully described in this study. The results indicate that the percentage of quarce
