Solving tri-criteria: total completion time, total late work, and maximum earliness by using exact, and heuristic methods on single machine scheduling problem
...Show More Authors

The presented study investigated the scheduling regarding  jobs on a single machine. Each  job will be processed with no interruptions and becomes available for the processing at time 0. The aim is finding a processing order with regard to jobs, minimizing total completion time , total late work , and maximal tardiness  which is an NP-hard problem. In the theoretical part of the present work, the mathematical formula for the examined problem will be presented, and a sub-problem of the original problem of minimizing the multi-objective functions  is introduced. Also, then the importance regarding the dominance rule (DR) that could be applied to the problem to improve good solutions will be shown. While in the practical part, two exact methods are important; a Branch and Bound algorithm (BAB) and a complete enumeration (CEM) method are applied to solve the three proposed MSP criteria by finding a set of efficient solutions. The experimental results showed that CEM can solve problems for up to  jobs. Two approaches of the BAB method were applied: the first approach was BAB without dominance rule (DR), and the BAB method used dominance rules to reduce the number of sequences that need to be considered. Also, this method can solve problems for up to , and the second approach BAB with dominance rule (DR), can solve problems for up to  jobs in a reasonable time to find efficient solutions to this problem. In addition, to find good approximate solutions, two heuristic methods for solving the problem are proposed, the first heuristic method can solve up to  jobs, while the second heuristic method can solve up to  jobs. Practical experiments prove the good performance regarding the two suggested approaches for the original problem. While for a sub-problem the experimental results showed that CEM can solve problems for up to  jobs, the BAB without dominance rule (DR) can solve problems for up to , and the second approach BAB with dominance rule (DR), can solve problems for up to  jobs in a reasonable time to find efficient solutions to this problem. Finally, the heuristic method can solve up to jobs. Arithmetic results are calculated by coding (programming) algorithms using (MATLAB 2019a)

Effect of integrated nutrient management using pigeon manure, biofertilizer and boron on quantitative and qualitative traits of green onion (Allium fistulosum L.)
...Show More Authors

Despite the recognised importance of green onion as a nutritionally and medicinally valuable crop in Iraq, its production heavily depends on chemical fertilisers, which degrade soil fertility and environmental quality. Although organic manure, biofertilizers, and micronutrients such as boron individually improve soil health and crop performance, limited information is available on their integrated application under local agro-ecological conditions. In this regard, an experiment was conducted during the 2024-25 fall season at the fields of College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, Iraq to study the effects of integrated nutrients managements on growth, yield and quality of bunching onion (Allium fistulosum)

Monitoring Changes in the Spectral Reflectivity of Baghdad City and the Impact of the Atmospheric Elements on it using R.S and GIS
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Climate change in recent years has greatly affected the distribution of ground covers. Monitoring these changes has become very easy due to the development of remote sensitivity science and the use of satellites to monitor these changes. The aim of this research is to monitor changes in the spectral reflectivity of the Baghdad governorate center for the month (March, June, September, December) of the year 2021 using remote sensing and satellite images Sentinel 2 and knowing the climate imact on them. Fifty-one samples were selected for four types of ground cover (agricultural land, water, buildings and open space) and their spectral reflectivity was calculated using satellite images. </p> ... Distortions to the passage of time for annual events: Exploring why Christmas and Ramadan feel like they come around more quickly each year
...Show More Authors

Background Commonly heard statements such as “Christmas comes around more quickly each year” suggest that the passage of time between annual events can become distorted, leading to the sensation of time passing more quickly than normal. At present however, it is unclear how prevalent such beliefs are and, what factors are predictive of it. Aim To explore the prevalence of beliefs that annual events such as Christmas (Study 1 UK sample) and Ramadan (Study 2 Iraqi sample) feel like they come around more quickly each year. To establish the association between distortions to the passage of time between annual events and emotional wellbeing, event specific enjoyment, memory function and self-reported attention to time. Optimization and Prediction of Process Parameters in SPIF that Affecting on Surface Quality Using Simulated Annealing Algorithm
...Show More Authors

Incremental sheet metal forming is a modern technique of sheet metal forming in which a uniform sheet is locally deformed during the progressive action of a forming tool. The tool movement is governed by a CNC milling machine. The tool locally deforms by this way the sheet with pure deformation stretching. In SPIF process, the research is concentrate on the development of predict models for estimate the product quality. Using simulated annealing algorithm (SAA), Surface quality in SPIF has been modeled. In the development of this predictive model, spindle speed, feed rate and step depth have been considered as model parameters. Maximum peak height (Rz) and Arithmetic mean surface roughness (Ra) are used as response parameter to assess th
