Mishrif Formation is the main reservoir in Amara Oil Field. It is divided into three units (MA, TZ1, and MB12). Geological model is important to build reservoir model that was built by Petrel -2009. FZI method was used to determine relationship between porosity and permeability for core data and permeability values for the uncored interval for Mishrif formation. A reservoir simulation model was adopted in this study using Eclipse 100. In this model, production history matching executed by production data for (AM1, AM4) wells since 2001 to 2015. Four different prediction cases have been suggested in the future performance of Mishrif reservoir for ten years extending from June 2015 to June 2025. The comparison has been mad
... Show MorePetrophysical properties of Mishrif Formation at the Tuba field determined from interpretation of open log data of(Tu-2,3,4,5,6,12,24,and 25) wells. These properties include total (effected) and secondary porosity, as well as moveable and residual oil saturation into invaded and uninvaded zones. According to Petrophysical properties it is possible to divided Mishrif Formation into three reservoir units (RU1,2,and 3) separated by four cap rocks (Bar1,2,3,and 4) . Three-dimension reservoir model is established by used (Petrel, 2009) Software for each reservoir units. Result shows that the second and third reservoir units represent important reservoir units of Mishrif Formation. Thickness and reservoir properties enhanced toward middle and
... Show MoreThe middle Cenomanian – early Turonian Mishrif Formation, a major carbonate reservoir unit in southern Iraq, was studied using cuttings and core samples and wireline logs (gamma‐ray, density and sonic) from 66 wells at 15 oilfields. Depositional facies ranging from deep marine to tidal flat were recorded. Microfacies interpretations together with wireline log interpretations show that the formation is composed of transgressive and regressive hemicycles. The regressive hemicycles are interpreted to indicate the progradation of rudist lithosomes (highstand systems tract deposits) towards distal basinal locations such as the Kumait, Luhais and Abu Amood oilfield areas. Transgressive hemicycles (transgressive systems tract deposits)

Extensive research has been conducted to investigate and identify the positive effects of LSWI on oil recovery. In order to demonstrate the impact of introducing low salinity water into a reservoir, simulations on the ECLIPSE 100 simulator are being done in this work. To simulate an actual reservoir, an easy static model was made. In order to replicate the effects of injecting low salinity water and normal salinity, or seawater, the reservoir is three-phase with oil, gas, and water. It has one injector and one producer. Five cases were suggested to investigate the effect of low salinity water injection with differen

Kinetic Analysis referred to that the type of Fold of Ratawi Structure similar to the types which are associated with Salt Structure activity.Geophysical Interpretation referred to the presence of Salt Structure beneath Ratawi Structure. The Isopach Maps shows that the crest thickness is less than the limbs, this characteristics is always due to those of salt structures beneath Ratawi field. Both of Tectonic Movement and Salt Structure play a great role in forming and development of Ratawi Structure.
some ecological (physical and chemical varible) of water samples were studies monthly from December 2008 to May 2009 at two stations( St.1) Al - Chibayesh marsh and (St.2) Abu – Zirik marsh which are located in the south of Iraq . These variables included : Temperature, pH, EC, Dissolved oxygen , Total alkalinity, Nitrate, Sulphate, and phosphate, Si-SiO2 and Ca ,Mg, Cl, The marsh Considered as fresh water and alkaline. Abu-Zirik less than Al-Chibayesh.
Gas Chromatography GC, Gas Chromatography–Mass spectrometry GC/MS techniques used for analysis of the crude oils that taken from (10) producing wells in Nasiriyah oil field including (NS-1, NS-3, NS-4, NS-5, NS-6, NS-7, NS-8, NS-9, NS-10, and NS-12) from Mishrif reservoir . This reservoir is one of the important reservoirs in Al-Nasiriyah oil field, and it will be the main subject in the current study in order to provide information of crude oil analysis in this area, also to provide information on its characterizations. Mishrif Formation is one of the principle carbonate reservoir in central and southern Iraq. It is part of the wasia group and widespread throughout the Arabian gulf, It is deposited during Cenomanian-Early Turonian cyc
... Show MoreSeventeen core samples were taken from Luhais and Tuba oil wells according to the presence of oil bearing formations. These wells were located in the province of Basra/southern Iraq. The formation that the samples are collected from Zubair and Mishrif formations. The core samples were taken from the wells at different depths. In the current study the ultrasonic technique was conducted to measure (Vp and Vs) as well as to determine some petrophysical properties for core samples and some elastic moduli such as (Young's modulus, Bulk modulus, Shear modulus, Poisson's ratio and Lame's constant) depending on the values of Vp and Vs as well as density. The relationships between seismic wave velocities with elastic moduli and petrophysical prop

This research deals with the evaluation of effective porosity (Pe), shale volume (Vsh) and water saturation (Sw) of reservoirs at Kumait and Dujalia fields, which were analyzed from well log and seismic data. The absolute acoustic impedance (AI) and relative acoustic impedance (RAI) were derived from a model which is based on the inversion of seismic 3-D post-stack data. NahrUmr formation’s sand reservoirs are identified by the RAI section of the study area. Nahr Umr sand-2 unit in Kumait field is the main reservoir; its delineation depends on the available well logs and AI sections information. The results of well logging i
