Abstract. This paper examines the structural rules governing abbrevia-tions in the Russian lexicon and proposes methods for translating these abbrevi-ated forms into Arabic. Based on the general theory of abbreviation by Shapovalova (2018) and subsequent typological studies. Abbreviations occupy a significant place in the modern Russian language, especially in official business, scientific and journalistic styles. However, when translating these units into Ara-bic, translators face a number of linguistic and cultural difficulties that require special strategies and adaptation [5, с. 2]. The relevance of this topic is that ab-breviations and acronyms are an integral part of publications / works that require saving printing space. Reasonable use of abbreviations and acronyms also saves the reader's time. Abbreviations and acronyms should correspond to the nature and purpose of the text, be understandable to the reader without decoding or with decoding in the list of abbreviations and be formatted uniformly throughout the publication. The practical significance of the work is that editing and formatting abbreviations and acronyms in a publication / work are the result of an in-depth study of the content of the book text. This requires knowledge of the topic of the work, the rules for compiling and editorial evaluation of abbreviations and acro-nyms used in the publication/work. Practical examples illustrate each method, focusing on readability, cultural acceptability, and referential transparency. The report concludes that a flexible, audience-sensitive combination of these strate-gies ensures both source-accuracy and integration into Arabic language norms. Modern Russian is characterized by a high level of word-formation productivity, including through a variety of word abbreviation techniques. Abbreviations serve the functions of economy of speech means, stylistic marking, terminological ac-curacy, etc. At the same time, translation into Arabic presents linguacultural and formal difficulties: Arabic morphology, phonetics, and graphics react in their own way to reduced forms. This paper aims to add to the growing body of cognitive translation studies that deal with the translation of emotions and the factors of evaluating the translation process-oriented. Cognitive appraisal is one of the tokens that includes three paradigms of assessing the performance of translation, it can be addressed from the perspective of emotions, intuitions, and individual styles of the SL and the method of transfer into TL. The study hypothesized that translators create a similar emotional charge due to their mental capability to build the same emotional effect in the TL audience.
