Effect of Cutibacterium acnes cell free antigen (CFAg) immunization, levofloxacin and cinnamon oil on Cutibacterium acnes infection in rabbits
...Show More Authors

Tuaimah GS, AQ Al-Awadi, Ahmed ME., Effect of Cutibacterium acnes cell free antigen (CFAg) immunization, levofloxacin and cinnamon oil on Cutibacterium acnes infection in rabbits, Onl J Vet Res., 22 (9):811-822, 2018. C. acnes causes acne vulgaris most commonly in 12-24 year olds. Five albino rabbits were immunized at day 1 and 14 with Cutibacterium acnes cell free antigen (CFAg) and then infected intradermally with 0.1 ml C. acnes suspension (2×108 cfu/ml) at day 30. Two groups of five infected rabbits were then treated at Day 30 with 0.5% levofloxacin or 0.2% cinnamon oil twice daily for 12 days. Five control rabbits were infected intradermally with 0.1 ml 2×108 cfu/ml Cutibacterium acnes n (2×108 cfu/ml). At day 42, skin test (mm), serum IgG and IFN-γ were determined. In vitro, we found C. acnes minimum inhibitory concentrations for cinnamon oil 2mg/ml and levofloxacin 1.5 μg/ml, but resistant to clindamycin, azithromycin, erythromycin and metronidazole. Compared with controls, immunized rabbits showed significant increases in skin thickness (P < 0.01), serum IgG (P < 0.05) and IFN-γ levels (P < 0.01) and less pathology. In rabbits treated with cinnamon oil or levofloxacin we observed least pathology compared with other treatments. Results suggest that immunization with C. acnes CFAgs enhanced immunity and reduced lesions, and levofloxacin and cinnamon oil, may control acne.

EXPERIMENTAL AND SURFACE STUDIES ON THE CORROSION INHIBITION EFFECT OF PLATINUM COMPLEX ON COPPER ALLOY IN NITRIC ACID SOLUTION
...Show More Authors

The objectives of this paper was the development of a novel ligand, L, which was achieved in two stages: ligand is synthesised by reducing the result of the reaction between cyclohexane-1,2-diamine and 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxycy clohexane-1-carbaldehyde, followed by the production of the 4,4’-((1E,1’E)-(1,2 phenylenebis(azanylylidene))bis(methanylylidene))bis(2,6-dimethoxyphenol) precursor (P). While studying corrosion inhibition (copper alloy) in acid solution by weight loss, compounds were characterised using 1H, 13CNMR (for ligand (L) and (P)), FT-IR and UV spectra, melting point, molar conductivity, %C, %H and %N, %M, and magnetic susceptibility. The complex’s octahedral structure is inferred from the bidentate coordination

Reliability Estimation Of Fuzzy Failure Times Of Free Distribution And It Use To Estimate The Fuzzy Reliability Of Mosul Dam
...Show More Authors

The way used to estimate the fuzzy reliability differs according to the nature of the information of failure time which has been dealt in this research. The information of failure times has no probable distribution to explain it , in addition it has fuzzy quality. The research includes fuzzy reliability estimation of three periods ,the first one from 1986 to 2013,the second one from 2013 to 2033 while the third one from 2033 to 2066 .Four failure time have been chosen to identify the membership function of fuzzy trapezoid represented in the pervious years after taking in consideration the estimation of most researchers, proffional    geologists and the technician who is incharge of maintaining of Mosul Dam project.           The subject of marketing culture and mental image is one of the important topics in the field of management. There is no study that combines these two variables. The research is important because of the increasing importance of the subject. The future direction of the company in question will support the company's economic and marketing responsibilities. And reflect the company's mental image, as a culture that contributes to changing the reality of the organization investigated by polling the views of a sample of managers in the General Company for Vegetable Oil Industry, which (30) out of the (65) individual, and There are two hypotheses of research: There is a significant

The research aims to study the effect of knowledge upgrade on business continuity in private colleges and universities in Baghdad. The research problem is summarized in the main question (were the academic leaders able to employ knowledge upgrading to enhance business continuity). The most important of this sector were the universities and the private college in the city of Baghdad as a field for this research, the researchers conducted a field visit to (10) universities or private colleges, the research sample consisted of (177) individuals from the deans of colleges and their assistants, as well as heads of scientific and administrative departments. The data was analyzed and the hypotheses were tested using the appropriate statistical

The Effect of Electronic Apparatus on Developing Balance in National Center for Gifted in Boxing and Basketball
...Show More Authors

The problem of the research lies in special motor abilities training programs like the balance that positively affect coordination between the nervous system and muscles. These training programs did not get enough attention from athletes especially young athletes; their training was restricted to physical abilities like strength, speed, and endurance instead. The research aimed at designing an apparatus for developing athletes’ balance in national centers for gifted/ ministry of youth and sport so as to provide a measurement for coached in this field. The results showed that the designed apparatus have a positive effect on developing the subjects’ balance in boxing and basketball athletes.

Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) Iraqi Strain AD2141 Induces DNA Damage and FasL in Cancer Cell Lines
...Show More Authors

The oncolytic viruses are promising form of cancer therapy which is based on the selectively killing of the cancer cells. This study was aimed to investigate the role of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) Iraqi strain AD2141 in apoptosis. Firstly, the virulence of AD2141 was detected in embryonated chicken eggs after 48hrs of infection. It was observed a hemorrhage in the skin of infected embryos that led to death. Then, the ability of this strain for regression cancer cell lines was examined. By using cytotoxicity test, it was found 128 HAU/ml of AD2141 had a potent inhibition against growth of RD and AMN3 after 72hrs of exposure time; the inhibition rate was 86.8% and 86.98% respectively. Moreover, the apoptotic activity of AD2141 was exami

Study of Microbial Desalination Cell Performance; Power Generation and Desalination Efficiency using Pure Oxygen in a Cathode Chamber
...Show More Authors

Microbial Desalination Cell (MDC) is capable of desalinating seawater, producing electrical power and treating wastewater. Previously, chemical cathodes were used, which were application restrictions due to operational expenses are quite high, low levels of long-term viability and high toxicity. A pure oxygen cathode was using, external resistance 50 and 150 k Ω were studied with two concentrations of NaCl in the desalination chamber 15-25 g/L which represents the concentration of brackish water and sea water. The highest energy productivity was obtained, which amounted to 44 and 46 mW/m3, and the maximum limit for desalination of saline water was (31% and 26%) for each of 25 g / L and 15 g / L, respectively, when using an ex
