The methodology used in this study was the quantitative and qualitative approach, by observing the movement problems on campus and imaging as well as defining thermal hotspots using the GIS program, to active modes of transportation through various strategies. Findings revealed several issues on design solutions that related to three levels for campus’s greenways, the relationship of (paths-paths) and (paths-buildings) and (paths-landscape) and the identification of vital foci represented by the areas of intersection, movement, and stopping. Consequently, the framework for a guideline to develop this campus and any campus of similar characteristics. Finally, sustainable design for the University of Diyala has been developed.

Flood Management of Diyala River
...Show More Authors

Diyala Governorate was recently exposed to high flood waves discharged from Hemrin Dam. Since the dam was at its full capacity during the flood period, these waves were discharged to the Diyala River. Because of the reduction in Diyala River capacity to 750m3/s, the cities and villages on both sides of the river banks were inundated. Thus, the study's objective is to design a flood escape out of the Diyala River, to discharge the flood wave through it. The flood escape simulation was done by using HEC- RAS software. Two hundred twenty-three cross sections for the escape and 30 cross-sections of the Diyala River were used as geometric data. Depending on the geological formation that the escape passed t

...Show More Authors

The rapid increase in the number of older people with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other forms of dementia represents one of the major challenges to the health and social care systems because of a large number of people affected. Early detection of AD makes it possible for patients to access appropriate services and to benefit from new treatments and therapies, as and when they become available, and to plan for the future. The onset of AD starts many years before the clinical symptoms become clear. A biomarker that can measure the brain changes in this period would be useful for early diagnosis of AD. Potentially, the electroencephalogram (EEG) can play a valuable role in early detection of AD. Damage caused to the brain due to AD leads t

Post-interactive communication A study to build a model for the flow of communication in social networking sites
...Show More Authors

The issue of the research lies in the non-representation of the models developed for the communication process in the interaction and networking processes through social media, as the research sought to build a network model of communication according to the specific data and features of social media platforms in order to reach a special generalization to understand how the process of networking operates in cyberspace.

The researcher followed the analytical survey approach as she described the communication models outwardly in order to be able to build a networked communication model that represents the flow of post-reactive communication. Therefore, it has been named "Nebula - Sadeem" after the concept of post-space and cosmic g
